ultralight 30-50kg weight silent centre motor electric motorcycles disguised as electric mtbs with heavy duty chain and sprockets/shaft drive is the way to go for ebike use. use footpegs

lol I'm 26 and I've just ordered an electric bike. I feel slightly weird for getting one now since its mainly old people getting them aha only got it so I could get up the hills to get to work in the morning.
-
I work up a hill & live up another hill, just pedal, it all becomes easier with time, e-bikes defeat the whole purpose of riding
-
I'm 47 I cycled all my life but I still ride but e bike is a possibility because I don't eat much and most of the time I'm walking up hill or in the flat or falling asleep because I have no energy

Trading standards need to look at the claimed miles put out there by sellers of E bikes . There not realistic

I have had several cars now packed up driving. Tickets here there and everywhere, stuck in traffic, petrol prices and running costs. Just for Fed up with it. What's the point in using anything other that an electric bike or scooter in towns or cities? The UK limit is 250 watts, weather that's a bike or scooter. 15 mph is quite suffient to potter around on without harming anyone and avoiding getting hot and sweaty. My advice is get something electric, join the phenomenon and lose the car

If cyclists have no problem with Ebikes why was it that a cycling organisation from the UK put the blockers on the industry increasing the power so everyone could make use of them?
If you want Ebikes to take off in the UK and not just an expensive cloths hanger that you wished you never spent your money on 15 mph needs to give way to 20 mph that way lots of people would be interested.
I own an Ebike and people always stop me and ask "how fast does it go" then comes the disappointment when I tell them about the law.
But understand that it has nothing to do with the bike because the USAs version easily can do 20+ mph.
Even in Denmark many people tamper with their ebikes to make them go faster.
Also Electric scooters why are they banned in the UK unless you register them as mopeds, if we are talking about alternative transport to the car or motorcycle surely it makes sense to allow 20 mph electric scooters 20 mph electric bikes.
So unless the law is changed these things will just end up as play things for the old or infirm who want to ride a bike.
No mention of the Escooter here and why the govt sees fit to keep them on the banned list unless you have a motorcycle license, think about it 500watts escooter has to be registered as a moped it will do around 15 mph tops if that.
We need some sensible ebike and escooter laws in the UK, not the laws we have now they make no sense and strangle the market. -
Just got into ebiking and its fantastic. Use it everyday. :)
