Environmentally Friendly, Smart Bicycles in Spotlight at Bicycle Fair

Environmentally friendly and smart bicycles have become new focuses at the 25th China International Bicycle Fair which opened on Wednesday in Shanghai. The bicycle's role is gradually evolving from a simple means of transportation to a symbol of low-carbon and green lifestyle. Meanwhile, more and more people take biking as a kind of favored sport. "The bicycle is moving ever closer to people's life. More and more people choose bike as a means of transportation, ride bike for leisure or to travel," said Huo Xiaoyun, Vice Chairman of China Bicycle Association. "We frequently hold public riding activities to let the public participate in riding. With people's participation, we can carry forward the bike's low-carbon and environmentally friendly function," said Zhan Fuqi from a bicycle manufacturer. Internet technology has also been applied to develop smart bicycles and attracted many people's eyes. "To integrate smart functions into bicycles is to apply smart technology on its production. That is to say, to embed the technology in the design and production of bicycles' parts," Huo added. The fair to last to Saturday has attracted more than 1,300 companies from 30 countries and regions.
