First Test of 1000W Black Lightning 40 MPH Brushless Geared Hub Motor from Hi-Power Cycles
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
This is the first test of our 1000W BLACK LIGHTNING brushless, geared hub motor. THIS BIKE AS ALL OF OUR BIKES THAT GO OVER 20MPH can only be legally used OFF ROAD!!!! The lucky guy testing this motor is Jake Carter from San Luis Rides located in San Luis Obispo, CA. This motor is unbelievable- It has the power to lift the front wheels of the ground and also hit 40MPH on just 48V! This is our most powerful motor, and since it is internally geared, it still comes in at only 9 lbs! The motor will fit up to a 9 speed freewheel and also disc brakes. This is the Ultimate Electric Bike motor!

-
Is this direct drive? or planetary geared hub motor?
-

Complete BS. Total lies. He's not going 40mph. A 1000 watt hub motor being powered by 48V can only go 28-32mph on flat ground. Even the eye test shows you this on the video.

Sp this was 5 years ago, what upgrades have happened since you did this? HAve you switched to Lithium batteries? What range are you getting? I actually live In SLO myself but I don't see anyone using these type of bikes I do see them use those electric only ones.
