2. 39.10 the example of the painted bike lanes on a road in the US suck big time, why have a parking area then a cycle path next to a parking area without any buffer in between to get out of the car that you need if you don't want to ride into the car doors opening
   The right way to do it would be a single cycle path for two directions with a separating line in the middle of the bike lane, then a buffer zone for people to get out of the car, then a car parking area, then street for cars driving and then again car parking area. If in the Netherlands you have this situation of parked cars on the side of the road you have no designated cycle paths that force you do a Russian roulette with opening car doors, you wanna get away from those opening car doors and not be forced to ride right next to them or you wanna ride on a separate two lane cycle path with a car door buffer, best would be a higher buffer area because painted buffers get used as a car park anyway. Best is to hire a Dutch city planner that rides bikes and let him do it instead of copying it in the wrong way by a non cycling USA city planner.
3. I think this is a verry old VHS video. Wen you want to renew things you need use the latest examples. The Netherlands has learned from mistakes and i think this video doesn't show that. Since its about traffic safety and this is an old video i think this video should taken offline. People get the wrong impression now.

7. you have no idea how loop detectors work..they were only ment for cars and you could sit at a buzzy intersection till the cows came home or a car came up behind you..and still then you were sitting on the loop and never trigger it..
