From what I understand, from Bikeradar , the propel belongs to a new breed of bikes. The reviewer at bikeradar says it is the first aero bike that combines comfort and it keeps the speed of the fastest of bikes. Many people, after riding it are surprised at its comfort compared to other aero bikes. The brakes don't touch anything. The propel took many years to develop in a Giant lab. So the geometry don't make sense but so many top racers own one. I've seen pros climb hills and they chose the Propel over the TCR even if the Propel is half a kg heavier.

You're always not sure about Giant bikes. Cannondale guy!
-
all the possible issue that you stated in this video was not a problem with my 2014 Giant Propel Advanced SL.Company studied this bike for years and revolutionized the aero bikes.
-
bike review w/o fully test riding is very misleading and unfair...
-
the v-brake is very easy to adjust, I found I prefer such brake than c-brake.
-
i have a 2014 propel and I never run into that cable issue...
-
On the propel you have to use shimano polymer coated shift cables with any other cable the shifting is crapy even impossible, the brakes are no issue works as good as the standard one the pain in the is is the tire size you can only go up to 23mm

Stack and reach are measured relative to the BB. Different frames can use a slightly different BB height and position therefore giving different stack and reach. Giant dealers will fit you to your bike in a position that suits your needs. If you already have fit dimensions they will make your new bike suitable for your old position by changing stem height, length, angle and seat position. This is a very good reason to use your local bike shop, not online size calculators. Propel frame is 3 years old now so expect a new aero frame design from giant this year, they use a 3 year cycle normally.

I ride a 2014 Propel Advanced and have no issues what so ever with the cable routing with the Ultegra groupset. I did replace the brakes with Fourier's so as to accommodate wider tyres and I have to say that the fourier brakes are easy to setup and have great stopping power. Hope this helps.

I ride a Propel Advanced SL with full Ultegra Mechanical Groupset. I have no issues with cables, rubbing or catching on anything, even when i descend with my chest on the handlebars/stem. Shifting is great, very crisp changes even under load. The brakes are not an issue for me, easy to centre with a grub screw on each side, like any brake they will rub if not setup properly, this is a problem with the owner not the bike.

When I saw a propel at a bike store, I couldn't understand why Giant decided to place the shifting cables like that either. If you get low on your bike (going downhills and such), I bet your chest would be robbing or even pressing down on the cables. Let's just hope your jersey or helmet strap doesn't get tangled with the cables!
