[Great Movie Scenes] Good Will Hunting - Park Scene
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Just a terrific scene. I don't know what else to say. Great acting by Robin Williams. A little background: Matt Damon sees a painting in Robin Williams office, who plays his psychiatrist, and assumes he knows everything about him by just looking at it. Needless to say, Robin Williams is pissed, and this is their next meeting.

one of the greatest movie scenes, especially the woman part, "level you with her eyes," jesus that is good stuff

I've watched Good Will Hunting like 10 times already, why do I suddenly feel the urge to watch it for the 11th time.
-
2:50 "You don't know about real loss because that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself"
-
u can feel will' s walls being broke down

This scene is quite inspiring. Quit the life of knowledge and embrace something far more challenging and rewarding "the rest of untapped you." because who you are, cant be encapsulated in knowledge.

I like to cry. This Scene makes me do it. These two quotes."I doubt you've ever loved anyone that much." "You don't wanna do that; do ya sport? You're terrified of what you might say." I've truly never loved anyone that much; & I'm truly terrified of what I might say. I'm gonna cry now. To myself

Being/acting vulnerable in front of a woman leads to the death of a relationship. No woman is capable or respecting (and therefore, loving), a man that exposes his weaknesses. Women claim that they want you to bare your soul. They claim they want to know your aches and pains, and to soothe them. They're lying, but they don't even know it. They think they want to know the real you. They think they want to get close and to know your vulnerabilities. But the second they find out, their base nature makes them resent you. Women cannot abide by men they perceive as too soft, too insecure, and all it takes is a moment of doubt and they'll dismiss you, maybe not consciously, but certainly subconsciously. They cannot stay with a man who doesn't present himself as an invulnerable rock. Women are weak, and they need strength to feel comfortable. Never, EVER, expose your weaknesses to a woman you care about, or you will lose her. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but some day. "In sickness and in health" is just a pretty lie.The only women who will stick with someone "through anything" are psychologically damaged, and then the only reason they stick with it is because they're so weak-willed and abused that they can't get away from whoever is controlling them. Real love does not exist. Period.

"...feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you..."

Holy shit. When the video ended, I felt like I was wrapped in magic. Chills.

I think people miss the point of this scene.
Williams describes a code of self sacrifice in caring towards his wife. In contrast, his wives forced him to work into old age and illness.
The idea of "well, she'd do the same for me if our positions were reversed" seems to be publicly proved false by his life.
The actor who spouted these ideas didn't find such a friend as he asked Matt Damon's character to be. -
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT WHY YOU? THERE'S AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF WORTHLESS FUCKING TALKING HEADS IN HOLLYWOOD, WHY YOU?
-
This scene make me realize many things. In some ways, I'm like Will. And I need, I really need to experience things, feeling things not by reading, watching some fucking books and movies.

Everybody's got something to hide, except me and my monkey.

I would give this movie another oscar.

If you ever have the opportunity to help someone who has depression, I say take it! Knowing that such an illness can take someone so powerful as Robin Williams really puts it into perspective. It doesn't have to be sad though - we can all help people in our lives who are suffering from it!
