Harley Davidson Iron 883 vs Street 750 Road Test - HD | Totally Motors

We weren't originally going to film with the bikes but took the opportunity while we could. Usually we'd have at least a couple of days - but with only a couple of hours we had to get a shift on to pack in as much as we could into a road test. ► Follow Matt on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/PomeloFish ► Want to support the channel and help it grow? http://www.patreon.com/Pomelo_Pictures ► Check out more at our website: http://www.pomelopictures.com

If it's lighter and faster than the sportster and comfortable than I say why not. I don't use my hemi truck to pick up groceries. Why not have a lighter more nimble bike. You might see an electric Harley in dealers soon. Does not mean it's crap just because it's lighter.

@0:06 a some complain at the 750 for the spaghetti exposed wires. go figure that even the iconic 883 has the same problem.

I can't believe you would compare a Harley Sportster to that Indian made POS. That thing is in no way a Harley. If you want an Indian made bike, get a Royal Enfield, and put a decent exhaust on it. It will give you the riding experience of a vintage British single. It's noisy (with the right muffler) and it shakes. It lets you know it has an engine. It also looks nice. Back to the Harley. I have a 2006 Sportster 883, bought used. It's the last year with a carb. I don't deal with EFI. I converted my Royal Enfield EFI back to an Amal carb with a conversion kit from a company in the UK. Unlike the street crap, the Sportster has a fair amount of vibration. It is a long stroke heavy flywheel 45 degree single crankpin engine. But what really turns the Sportster is the sound it makes with a decent exhaust system. It may be only 883cc, but it sounds just like a H-D big twin, with that lumpy, off beat idle. It sounds very much like an American V8 with a hot cam at idle, and has that distinctive H-D roar under acceleration. There is simply no way to compare these two bikes. The Street sounds like a Honda 300cc single, and is so smooth you might think it was electric. The Sportster shakes and sounds like thunder

Why would any GUY want to ride one of these tiny bikes with no balls? I mean, sure, they're cute and inexpensive, but holy shit, they're under powered and cheaply made. They're just Harley's way of milking the market and making mediocre fair weather riders feel good about being able to say they own a Harley.

attention seeking whore hahahahhhahah

Great review thanks! I'm a new older rider and wanting to enter into the Harley family was torn between the street or the iron this review greatly helped my decision towards the street it's lighter quicker and already setup for two up riding!

to answer all of you questions . I have a street 500. I'm a new rider, I'm 5ft 8in. and only 115 pounds. I'm tiny , but let me say this to all ladies or new beginners, start off small. the iron 883 is a very top end heavy bike, I've sat on them, test drove it, and I did the like the feel. we live in the north ga mountains, there is a lot of curvy roads, and I do better on my bike than when I ride my husbands 950. the next bike is the 750. everyone wants me to go to a 883, and I'm not comfortable. so here's the thing, everyone is built differently, if your small like me, stay on what's you comfortable at. may even graduate to something bigger , but for right now I'm staying where I am at. remember the key words, bigger doesn't always mean better.

I have had the 750 street for 1 month now and Iove it. Its the perfect Harley for dealing with traffic and city street. But it is also great to ride the backroads on.

Finally a test for the ladies ...

Ok here's my 2 cents, y'all are kinda missing the point. Harley Davidson started as an American company for American roads, long and wide. I bought a 2016 48 which you know is a 1200. This is my first bike and I have only ever rode probably twice before hand. It's too damn small, I'm not a giant man I stand 5 11 and 190 lbs and this shit is not enough. I feel like I'm on a small bike, I like to ride interstate and I like long trips so I will need to get a big heritage or a full dresser. The 1200 has "enough" power for interstate travel but the weight is an issue, at 80 mph you just get tossed around by everything (speed limit is 70 now) so my advice is figure out which kinda rider you are. Do you just hop around back and forth putting a few miles on here and there or are you like me who put 1000 miles on in the first to weeks, it's called entry level for a reason

How are you verifieid with 150 subs...bruh
-
Just curious Cap. Did you ever end up buying a 750?

I traded in my "wife's" 2005 883 Low for a new 2016 Street 750 this past June. The wife doesn't ride any more so the new 750 is now my primary HD.
I upgraded the mirrors with new HD mirrors that have a longer wider stem so you can actually see behind yourself. I also added a new set of kuryakyn iso grips to take out the hand buzz, and a new bassaini performance slip on exhaust that sounds great, This weekend I added a new must have mustang touring seat on to the Street 750. The bike is now perfect, and a true blast to ride.

I'm considering this or the iron 883. Kinda nervous to go test ride it as I just got my license (woohoo!) and have only drive a 250cc cruiser XP
