yoo guyz need help.. im 6'1 in height is this bike suitable for me ? any suggestions my budget is 10-12k .purpose weight loss
-
But I'm confused between two bicycles first the above which is around 10k and second mongoose (US brand) which is 15k but more light weight and smooth but does extra money worth it?. I'm looking for commute 14 km daily so I'm looking for best bicycle with less effort.

Hi. I bought it just two month back. I M happy with my decision.

I bought this bike.I suggest you , if your height is more than 5 feet 6 inches ,dont invest in this bike

Hi Saurabh/ Pranjal,
Nice review up there. Keep posting more..!
I bought this bike (26 Inch version) - Silver color (the one shown in this video) on 6th March and usually use it for pleasure rides every evening after returning from office work, usually a 15-20 Km ride daily.
Few opinion from my end for this bike:
Its a typical "Hardtail MTB" (variant of MTB having only front suspension)
>> Pros:
1. The best thing about this bike is the frame design, which looks pretty cool and solid. I am not a fan of curve design, so this one gets a thumbs up from me. Seems to be sturdy and ready to take some abuse from serious off-roading.
2. Secondly, this bike has the best designed handle-bar. I havn't come across any MTBs that has a handle-bar like this one. Looks robust and quite appealing.
3. It comes with a variant of Shimano Gear system. The shift variant is called the "EZ-Fire Shifters" (Model: EZ-41) from Shimano which has separate pulleys for Up-shift and down-shift operations- for both front and rear derailleurs. The rear de-railleur variant is called the "TZ Tourney" (Model: RD TZ50) from Shimano supporting 6 wheeled cassette at the rear and front de-railleur supporting 3 wheeled cassettee. So its 6 x 3 = 18 geared bike.
I would advise not to get this adjusted from the bicycle retailer or any other repair man. The best way to adjust and maintain your bike's gear is to refer to some good videos out there on you-tube which show you: what does each screw meant for and how easily you can fine tune your own gear using just a screw-driver and some couple of allen keys. A bit of patience and steady hands required as well.
4. It comes with a provision to attach a bottle holder in its frame, which is very much required for carrying bottles for long rides which I do on a daily basis.
5. Front and rear reflectors are bit small, but serves its purpose.
6. Extendable Seat height. Comes with a release pulley.
7. Overall, light weight.
>> Cons (but not cons actually):
1. My Hercules hardliner came factory fitted with 26 x 2.10 tires (manufactured by SEYOUN - A brand of China). I was expecting at least 26 x 2.2 or 26 x 2.25. However wider tyres means more surface contact, hence more effort to gain speeds or sustain speed biking for a long time.
2. Brake Lever (integrated with Shimano EZ-41) are small. Ideal for 2 finger operation, however i will prefer to have longer brake levers to grab them better for hard braking.
3. No-disk brakes. But the integrated V-brakes are "awesome" and give an excellent bite to standstill the bike.
>> Additional fitments done :
1. Installed Firefox Gel-Pro seat covers @ Rs.700, Else the standard ones would pain your bottom over longer rides.
2. Installed Tek-tro Disk brake on front. Price of Disk brake + fitting charge cost me Rs.850 (in Airoli, Navi Mumbai)
3. Installed Mud-guards @ Rs.300 (makes the bicycle look complete + purpose what they are actually intended for)
4. Installed Bike odometer (Got them from E-bay @ Rs.325) - to track distance covered/ avg dist/ max speed etc.
5. Installed Firefox bottle holder @ Rs.230 (you can get them from any reputed bicycle store) + Bottle @ Rs 199 (purchased separately from D-Mart)
Final Words : An Excellent buy, if you are looking for an affordable MTB around 10K. Simple, yet purposeful. Good looking and solid. -
