1. "We have great roads here in America" ......Where ? I haven't seen those so called great roads, rather roads that are full of pot holes everywhere.
2. The danger is when you're passing congestion in one lane, and a gap in the other. Cars in the blocked lane will try to break out and get into the gap, and if they do they'll be in a hurry. If you see a car sized gap, put yourself in it. When drivers see the gap, they'll see you too. Once you've been seen, move forward back into your split, and let them take the spot.

7. Lane splitting is UNSAFE AS FUCKING HELL and should be illegal EVERYWHERE ON THE FUCKING PLANET. You choose to ride some little fucking death machine that can't even stand up on it's own when stopped. Then you drive like fucking morons. 10. I reckon the UK has got the right idea, you're able to filter when traffic is doing 20mph or lower, anything above that and you're asking to be knocked off your bike by some tit who doesnt check their blindspot
11. Lane splitting is encouraged here in the UK. i ride my 125 through traffic and police even move over for us and allow us through wherever possible.

15. Responsible Lane splitting maybe. When I see theses people lane splitting flying 30 MPH is stop and go traffic, all I do is hope they crash. They deserve to crash, it's fantastic.

17. Please guys, tell me what priority motorcyclists have over cars? I hear the men say something along the lines "I cut lanes otherwise in traffic we can't get anywhere"-- but then again nobody else can move in traffic either, why are motorcyclists allowed?
18. I would feel completely safe lane splitting if I wasnt living in Boston where the whole city breaks the law, jackasses everywhere, small roads, and extremely hectic. In Boston I would not feel safe lane splitting but anywhere else sure.
19. I'm all for it from the rider side of the equation, but it seems like you really have to have buy in from the cars too. I've seen car drivers get flipping pissed if someone lane splits here in Colorado. And even if they're not pissed, they might just not be looking for it. Not saying it shouldn't be legal everywhere, but you've got to have buy in from both sides IMHO.
20. It doesnt matter how many reasons you give, IT IS NOT SAFE. It likey has pros and cons, but it is not the panacea, it doesn't matter how experienced you are in lane splitting, you will never be able to predict a car opening its doors, or turning into you, or a person running into you behind a bus or a van.
    
    Motorcycles are hard to see for drivers, lane splitting just makes this even harder, since car drivers cannot track you and expect you just behind or in front of you.
    
    Futhermore if the lane splitting was all that good it wouldn't be prohibited in more than 75% of the world.
