How does the CV carburetor work and adjustment screw - ep 26 - Roma Custom Bike
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
In this episode Custom Cez explains how does the CV carburetor works and how to adjust the mixture screw. With the help of a detailed animation, we can observe how the carb works from the inside. After publishing the original "Cv carburetor rebuild" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC0-jumwgC0&index=29&list=PLV71LsSNUG3A_EEj3kG_7OdroCRSTP6kn) we have received many messages requesting more info, so we decided to produce this video to properly finish the job. Among the messages we were contacted by CV Performance with some suggestions. You can reach them on their site: Vacuum piston assembly: http://www.cv-performance.com/harley-vacuum-slide/ Then Custom Cez goes through the process of adjusting the idle mixture screw to optimize engine performance and throttle response. Don't forget to leave your suggestions in the comments and to share our videos in your social networks. What did we do: • jets cleansing • vacuum slide replacement • how does the cv carburetor work • how does the idle mixture screw work • adjustment of the idle mixture screw • diy exhaust fumes pumping system Made in Rome, Italy we take a look at an European approach to modifying and customizing an Harley Davidson with Custom Cez, an amateur customizer in his home shop. This video is amazing! Especially the part where you overlay the inner workings over the carb around 4 mins, beautiful. Good job, you're a great teacher!

Awesome video man! amazing detail. I really like how you did that animation of how it works! keep it up!

Hi C. Cez, Very-very good video, congrats and thanks for it in the name of a lot of bikers. Just a little note: at 12:08 the subtitle is screwed up. The word of "clockwise" is written there instead of "counterclockwise", although you say it right. Best wishes, Balint

Q. I have a honda 160 cc bike. It has evap canister in it, and secondary air intake too. Do I adjust my carb by plugging secondary air and evap lines first. When all is adjusted, then I connect secondary air intake and do slight final adjustment.
Whats your take on this? -
Hi, great tutorial! Thanks! just a few questions:
1. At 13:10, do you mean replacing the pilot jet or the main jet? Pilot right?
2. If the main jet doesn't start squirting right after opening the throttle how can the engine gain revs momentarily with the same amount of fuel?
3. Curious about how exactly the idle screw works ? On which part of the carburetor does it act on?
Anybody else is welcome to answer! -
Hi so if i replace the standard air filters with K&Ns would this mixture screw need reducing? as am thinking this will prevent th engine from starting

Hey. I come from an automotive background and the CV carbs were black magic to me. I appreciate showing me how it works!

U need to tune ur carb with air filters attached in the air circuit
bcz as soon as u add the air filter, mix will go rich.
Adding negative pressure in the exhaust will alter real life engine behaviour
infact increasing the exhaust pipe length will alter results but at much higher rpm.
