1. I believe in their products.
   
   I am on my second GIANT, and that's only because my first was stolen. They are sturdy (especially for big guys like me) and though their purchase price point is higher, maintenance costs are ridiculously lower because they are so reliable and well-built.
2. Giant is one of the few brands that first developed monocoque carbon frames. they also introduced compact road bikes, which were banned by the extremely conservatively UCI for some time, 20 years ago. Nowdays, almost every brand's bikes feature compact geometry. they are leading the industry standards. don't ever underestimate Giant again.
3. Giant did not give basic and sufficient information about the bikes. Watch out before you buy a giant. I am one of the victims, losing some money and losing trust for giant.

   I was really eyeing a Trek domane disc but this video has helped me finalize the decision on my next bike, a giant Defy SL disc.

    Its so funny to observe that all the entrepreneurs in the world i feel are citizens to one country. Entrepreneuristan :D
    
    All the citizens of this imaginary awesome country are spread all over the world.
    They possess these qualities. They are:
    + doers
    + humble
    + understand humans
    + never racist (they'll pick the best man for the job regardless race, gender, whatever)
    + ambassadors of the youth (they feel most happy with the young people. they are the first ones to say, let them be!)
    + have some spiritual core
    + optimist to the bone marrow

13. I'll add this... I did a general survey out online, from site to site, and so anyone is free to do the same random sampling on their own time if they think I am clueless... but almost ALL of the comments that said anything good about GIANT bikes had to do with PRICE! Over and over again the basic point people were making is... for the MONEY, the quality is good. I only ran into a couple of of the 500+ comments I read that mentioned ANY measure of actual comparison, any technology implementation, any actual and real advantages to the brand... as with MOST Chinese products... GIANT knows how to make an 'good looking' package and include enough quality effort to build a brand following. They are not particularly good bikes, they're just not bad bikes and they're cheaper than other bikes. BRAND is everything, people don't like that, they think it's snobbery, but its true. I will buy a Porsche ANYDAY over a Ford, I will buy a Martin ANYDAY over a Yamaha, I will buy an Apple ANYDAY over any brand of PC, and so forth... brand name building itself is a dark art, and GIANT has it's shill department out there writing comments on user group lists like any brand does... but I guess they were warned against being too exaggerated, and the people who have ridden other bikes naturally have only good pricing compliments to pay so it all evens in. So I give GIANT an excellent grade on 'propaganda', an excellent grade on using their slave Chinese labor force, and an average grade on actual technology and its implementation.
14. I'm interested in the escape 3 and the cannondale quick 5, I'll be trying them out at the lbs soon. I hope I like the giant more because it's cheaper lol.
