Okay the Netherlands is flat They don't even have foothills like for instance in the UK but there they have enough flat cities and places as well.
What I noticed though was that there seems to be much hatred for British cyclist by their fellow British.
In the daily mail if there is an article about cycling and cars you can bet there will be many vile remarks about the selfish cyclists and you can be equally sure that they are all driving cars. That being said I hope the UK will keep on creating cycle paths (especially in London) -

in america, if there is an oil crisis, people would scramble to buy gas and drive even more, 'before it runs out'. If one would kill a child with a car, he would almost certainly get away with it since the legal system always declares vehicular deaths as 'accidents'. If there is a pollution problem, there would be morons who would get bigger exhaust pipes and proudly proclaim spewing thick black diesel exhaust fumes everywhere.
Anyone living in the Netherlands has no idea how lucky they are. I am quite ashamed and disgusted at the utter stupidity and carelessness of my own country. -

Hey, can you show us the data source of the video? i.e. the average income, daily distance, percentage of cycling, traffic casualty (especially child death from traffic)? Without a reliable source these numbers don't seem very convincing...

Great video! Everywhere should be cycle and pedestrian friendly. History can teach us how to be safer. Hopefully, we don't have to repeat it. We can learn from near-misses as well. It's much better than waiting for a crash. That's why I upgraded my bike lights.
