Great idea - only issue I see is if you're working on a rear brake and cable runs along top tube. Clamp will be pinching.

I like what you have shown but you didn't show the bike on the stand, and how can you have the bike on it and be able to spin the back wheel with the pedals.?

That's a great idea but I would build a base to put on the ground so I could get to both sides of the bike. Thanks for the idea! I just might use this one.

I have a similar setup but instead of drilling holes and attaching flange to work bench I use my bench vice which swivels and has a pipe type clamp on it which I clamp the long section of pipe to .
