Rate, comment or subscribe to the award-winning BikemanforU Channel for new videos weekly plus the LIVE Show every Saturday at 10am eastern. http://www.youtube.com/bikeanforu.com In this shopping comparison video, BMFU points out five areas of the drivetrain to factor into your purchase - shifters, shocks, crank, bottom bracket, and gears. Bottom line: Sure, you could buy the inexpensive model and replace with an upgrade when the parts blow out, says. In the long run, however, the better investment is usually buying the better-equipped model out of the box. Is the talon 4 a good starter bike? Im short and having trouble finding anything that looks like it might fit. im leaving toward giant since it has a lower stand over height. But we have alot of dealers in the area i need to check out like Trek, giant, marin, cannondale, raleigh and fuji.

Can you do a revuiw of the tallon 29er 2 2016 model I'm looking at getting it but need advice

I found a SCOTT that is the exact same thing as a Talon 4, basically, but in SCOTT colours. Slightly more expensive. Just noticed I need to adjust my pre-load. On this bike it's just some kind of progressive spring in the shock, not pneumatic or anything. Very sturdy bike, bit on the heavy side, but properly adjusted it shifts pretty well, cheap Suntour shock actually works ok.

Good information, I noticed your front brake housings are routed on the outside of the fork, that could cause a problem on a mountain bike trail, if it snagged something, or if it hit something like a rock, the fluid could be gone fast, or you could just wind up on your butt.

can you make a bike size comparison of this giant?

I took my hard tail and put downhill shocks on it and holy fuck I to a 500 dollar bike and flipped it

i have the talon 2, used mostly as a commuter. i also ride trails on the weekend with friends, nothing competitive. i cans say i love the 2, put on 8-10 km a day. drive train, brakes, cranks, etc still work great. with that said the only problem like stated in the video is the fork. sloppy, on the road its fine with the lockout. when taken off road most trails are fine, but in more tech sections and small drops it really suffers. the only up grade i plan on is the fork.

Mr. Bike Man. Thanks for the video. I think it would be important to point out that the play you are feeling when you rock the bike back and forth with the front brake applied is from the brake. Its called brake pad play and is normal for most disc brakes. Viewers should note that if they have play like this in their forks, they should have the "loose" forks re bushed. Bushings wear out and need replacing from time to time. In the case of the Rock Shox, oil would be leaking from the seal if there was play in between the sliders and the legs. It is important that viewers know this as there is a risk of injury while riding with forks that are not maintained. Brake pad play ok, fork play bad. Thanks again for preaching the good word.
