Pedestrian was on wrong side of the road.

20cfog deserves every driver tailgating and swearing at him for not being in a cycle lane as he's a complete hypocrite. As a cyclist he's vulnerable to motorists and complains when they endanger him and don't show him respect, yet when he encounters a road user more vulnerable than himself he's deliberately intimidating to him. Poor cyclists damage the cause of responsible cyclists to be treated properly on the road.

I gave you no such advice. Given complicated circumstances,it's hard to give one size fits all guidance.
-
Safety and courtesy are the most important things, so concentrate on these.
-
You mean you are not supposed to shout "you dickhead". I could have sworn that it was international standards for when a cyclist encounters a pedestrian.
-
There's a difference between these two situations. In linked video, there is pedestrian walkway, where runner should be running. lol, not on the road... That's not safe for anybody
-
also, is there a cycle path/hard shoulder on the other side? if not, as a pedestrian I'd much rather have cyclists coming up behind me than cars coming at me head on, on a two-lane road like that. but yeah, in this situation my sympathies totally lie with the pedestrian (I would be annoyed, however, were there a footpath right next to him....)
-
But does this work on any road, and do you have to have shaved legs?
-
No footpath. The highway code advises walking on the right in such situations, but I'm not sure how a pedestrian could get over there without being killed!
-
You didn't see the other jogger video linked in the description?
-
Awesome stuff, Gaz. I hope 20cfog is again suitably ashamed. :D
-
Beautiful gaz just beautiful No screaming at them anymore makes the whole world seem more pleasant Well done
-
Simple, but nowhere near as funny! (joking, obviously)
-
Apart from the motorway....although I have seen a few brave the walk in NI.
-
do they even have a footpath to use there? it looks to me like they don't
-
Yes, they are allowed to walk anywhere on the highway (pavement, road, cycle lane, cycle track etc).
-
Yep, pedestrians are allowed almost anywhere.
-
That section is ridiculously poor for pedestrians who dare chose to walk. It's not like the space isn't there to provide a safe off carriageway path. May as well put up some of those nice blue round signs with pictures of pedestrians and cyclists on, label it shared use and be done with it.
