Ok, this is probably the best video I have seen on pumping bike tires (it's very detailed) and yes I've watched a ton. WHY? Because my tires won't pump!! I've tried two different pumps and the same thing happens each time. I attach the pump thingy to the schrader valve and when I go to pump it won't move more than a couple of inches. I have zero clue what to do. Can someone please tell me what is wrong with my tires?

Next time on GCN: How to turn on a bike light.

So you're telling me, dustcaps are pretty useless? Well tell this to the leaky valve at my mountainbike...
-
That's very helpful video
thank you so much -
Re: pressure. I just put Schwalbe Lugano 700x25C tyres on my road bike. They recommend max. 5 bar.
-
I struggle to pump air into the tire and air won't go in but I do not have the same valve as he pumps into can someone help
-
can someone tell me the model of that bike??
-
One very important thing missing - when inflating the rear tire, work from the left side of the bike. I learned the hard way the first time I pulled the pump head off the valve and smacked the back of my hand into the cassette.
-
Thank you so much my tire was flat for a long wile and finally this video saved me from taking it to a professional and paying a lot more money than by doing this.
-
May I ask? Do you guys deflate your tires between rides? If so, why? I have been doing it ever since day one. Don't know if it's necessary?

A pump that screws onto the valve can pull out the valve when removed, if the tube has a removable valve (as many now do) and you didn't use Loctite or pre-tighten the valve. Very unfun to be stuck in the midldle of nowhere because you can't remove the pump without deflating the tube. A dab of Loctite when packing the spare tube makes all the difference.

All these bitchy comments over a video meant for beginners is why cyclists are seen as insufferable snobs.

Next up: How to put on a helmet
Then: How to sit on a bike -
It takes Dan 3 minutes to explain how to do the tricky task of wrapping bar tape; and Si 5 minutes to show someone how to pump up a tyre. I guess that's why Dan's "The Boss".

nice.. Thanx

are you taking the Piss 😂😂
-
There are adaptors from shrader to presta/dunlop style pumps.
