First and foremost, ensure that the engine gets an oil change at the recommended interval. To know the recommended interval and the recommended grade, please check your owner's manual. Second, check the level of engine oil in the motorcycle. Now, if the motorcycle is consuming more oil than recommended, or more frequently - there is a chance that the engine is burning up too much oil. Here are two quick ways to out. Burning oil has a distinct smell. To check for this smell, simply ride the motorcycle for a while and look out for any burning smell coming from the engine area. Whilst riding, have a friend or a mechanic look out for a bluish white smoke coming from the exhaust. If there are no fumes, it means the engine isn’t burning oil.
