"The 'X' key is for the Duck key whose keybind is located under the Vehicle General set. Also, you don't have to hold the Duck key continuously. You need to hold it to activate the first swing/kick, but then if you continue to melee you can let go of the Duck key and you'll still be able to melee just by clicking left or right mouse buttons. If you delay your attacks for more than about a second, the cycle will reset and you'll need to hold Duck again to reactivate melee." - Inter's Odyssey If you have no weapon selected when you do this, you will kick instead.
