I see that I commented a year ago. I wanted to mention that I keep all of my food in a special bag, because then it can be hoisted into the air from a tree limb to keep it safe from bears. Of course, that is only necessary in certain places, but it is just my habit to pack that way. Also, I have seen helmet straps and pads, and also hydration packs, that have been munched on by deer and porcupines! And I now keep my wallet in the mesh pocket of the handlebar bag, not loose in the bag. Can you guess why? It was the last day of the tour, just before I went to buy my ticket home. What a lot of trouble that was! I had travelers checks. I eventually got the wallet back. Thank you for this video.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting, I did some bike traveling myself, but i would Always keep my passport on me, using one of those 'secret' money belts.
Lots of electronics...a tiny point and press camera, a huge slr camera, a gopro ...A phone ( with built-in camera? )
No cooking gear.
The bike locks looks flimsy, is that the only one you use?
Any thoughts on protection against dogs? ( Or bears....in Alaska..)
Thanks for all the info. -
Where is your camping stove?.....or do you only eat cold food when camping?
-
can you tell me what brand your bag is?
-
Do you use any light, or do you call it a day before nightfall? And, I loved the music in this video - perfect!

Darren, Have you always gone with no cooking gear? Is the absence of a stove, and pot a weight thing as you're carrying so many electronics or do you prefer RTE meals and restaurants? My extensive "kitchen" even includes a bag of spices and olive oil... I guess I carry the food equivalent of your electronic setup but I want to start carrying a DSLR, GoPro and laptop. I'm just curious as to if I should try and keep my kitchen too... Thoughts?

What size (volume) panniers do you use? I'm just getting into touring so this info is great. Thanks.

I'm curious if you still take multiple hard drives or 1 multi TB hard drive, large shoes or smaller "trail running" shoes and if you still carry a lap top or a smaller tablet?

I'm going for a very long time and I have Altura ultralight panniers . These look very waterproof . I also have an Anderson Royal plus trolley for my tent and sleeping bag etc . I usually go by foot so this is a big leap for me . I'm very grateful to you for posting this video . I'm not sure about my trolley . If it fails I'll stack the rack up a bit . Your advice is great . Thank you :)

I watched it on 1.5x speed, the normal video speed is too boring and slow. Great info though!

All good with 1 exception. Would not keep my face mask in my shoe.lol
-
where did you bought the small tent
-
how did you get such a small tent?
-
Forgot your cooking device and gas, plus pan. If add that there'll be not that much left to put food and extra water/drink gear etc..
-
what about all your cooking gear? no stove? are you just spending all your money on eating out?
-
Great, but who has 7 months for bicycle touring ? not me unfortunately.
