Hi suppose i encounter a nail and lose pressure on the way home - could i simply pump the tire with a simple hand pump if i carry one on my bike? I just got a nail go thru my tube today and it sucked lol

My friend put sealant in through a pinch puncture then duct taped it over lol

I've never had much joy with Slime sealant, which acts the same as this. I've had so many punctures with slime innertubes which do not seal themselves because the glass/stone becomes embedded into the tyre and tube. The glass also leaves a big cut in the tyre. so how can you plug a hole/gash in the tyre? I cannot afford to keep buying continental untra gator tyres (which are supposed to be very good). How do i repair a tyre permanently?

Doesnt it only work since u just put the sealant in and it hasnt dried inside yet? I highly doubt it could work once the sealant has dried or been in there for awhile, I could be wrong

will it do that if we keep the sealant in the tube for a long time? like it wont dry off or something?

Or for the same weight penalty you can get a more protected tire than the one you currently ride.

You mean to say that we apply the sealant with the inner tube inside the tyre ?

Tried it.. It will mess up your valve, which will make it hard to inflate... Just use a bottle of Vittorias sealant.. It's inflate and go...
Or just swap tube -
I use these Michelin Protek inner tubes (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0064QIS9O) that have sealant and special design to stop flats. And I use 700x38 Schwalbe Marathon Tour tires. The Schwalbe Marathons are already the best puncture resistant tire out there. In addition I use TWO bicycle tire liners in the rear because of all the weight on the tire (280+ lbs. carrying groceries). STILL with all that overkill I get flats. Very rarely, but it happens. I've also had tubes explode several times in a row for no apparent reason, other than it was the most inconvenient time for it to happen, so naturally IT HAPPENED. Lol.

What they don't tell you is that this stuff gradually dries up inside your tube after a few months and turns it into something that doesn't work.

read the contents of the sealant carefuly
most of them are either too thin or too thick or are unstable in terms of clump forming. and the results are unpredictable. when we have had tubeless technology all sorted out, there may not be any need for this.
on the other hand talking of bicycle racing tyres, there is probably always going to be the compromise of contradicting demands. the new development of graphene intelligent tyres proves that you cannot have it all. the puncture protection is a great challenge and will continue to be so
from my personal experience, it is not worth experimenting esp if you like using latex tyres, some of the chemical reactions may be unpredictable and the use of liquid sealants best applied as an emergency rather than preventative measure. -
just wondering, did u try running the sealed non-tubeless with passenger? im just curious if the sealed non-tubeless can handle the load of a person and the bumps of the road.

or you know you can just buy a slime tube with a presta valve for less than a tube and sealent
