bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Three critical tips to show you how to ride off road. Dual Sport and ADV Riders must know when to sit, stand, or waddle. My biggest mistake when I first started riding off road was to always sit, and when I stood, I stood too far back, and when I waddled, I lost traction. Use the simple pointers in this video to learn good habits, and correct bad habits like I had to! Love Adventure? i have a 1995 Honda Transalp 600, could I ride in those conditions with enough practice?
-
Great advice video for a noob, thanks!
-
This really helps me prepare for off road. I'll be moving in a month from the city to the desert. Excellent tutorial.
-
ok I replayed that part a few times and laughed out loud each time. stay safe tyler hahaha
-
Basic information given in a great scenery!
-
You know what I wanna do so so much: drive a atv or dirt bike in the middle of the Sahara desert.
-
So your KTM 1190 review helped me choose my first dual-sport bike and your tips kept me just that much safer today on my first proper off-road trail (I did drop the bike once, and bruised my wrist and my ego)
I really wanted to just say thank you for such great videos, both the content and the delivery are first class!
Ride safe! -
awesome ..Thanks for the great explanation

Great tips MrE.

OH MAN... that sounds you made!!! hahhaha I know that sound. haha
Great video.. one I will for sure share with new riders. I might also add as a HUGE help for new riders, is to watch ahead, not at the tire. Look ahead in corners, look ahead in hill climbs, just always look ahead. That all helps you not focus on the rocks or obstacles as much, letting you rip right through it. So many people all of a sudden "get it" and say to me "now I know what you mean by look ahead"... and ride so much better in that one little realization. But I think getting people to stand while riding is one of the best leaps in their skill for sure. -
Really dig the videos and tips you put together for our viewing pleasure. I know this may come a little off topic but have you ever done a comparison of the KLR650 and a DR650?

Really like these types of vids. Helps the new guys like me and reminds the experienced guys to remember the basics! As you do more of these style vids was wondering if you could focus one on off road aggressive turning. I have no confidence in my turns to the right where my right foot would be away from the brake in a hard right hand turn in loose conditions. Thanks Tyler and once again, great work!

First of all I love the great tips as always, who am I kidding I love the crash and then comes the tips haha. stay safe

I'm glad I kinda learned this indirectly from my long hours on mountain bicycle from early age, and i'm glad I made my mistakes and falls on paddling 2-wheeler instead of engined one. no guarantee I'll not screw up from now but I think I'm more confident with that long background. but having this video is a good refresher and hopefully something I can apply (when I have enough money to justify buying a dual-sports) cheers!

Never forget to squeeze the bike between your knees.
-
where can I buy a everide's shirt? you have shirts right? lol
-
Great advice. Standing, sitting and dabbing/waddling are all critical techniques for being safe, conserving energy and having fun out on the trails. I hear of a lot of ADV riders that insist on either standing or sitting all the time and I can only scratch my head at them lol
-
Good tips all. I still haven't figured out the waddle with the two stroke
-
That's all good, sound advice. Couple things I'd add is that proper bike control is primarily about SAFETY (to me at least). Another is that professional off road training is the BEST farkle you'll ever buy. I've learned (and unlearned) a great deal from this. Lastly, waddling with hard panniers is asking for TROUBLE. Leave your panniers at home if you can or get soft panniers if you ride off road a lot. Just my $0.02.
