8. wouldnt 2 at the front and any gear at the rear cause cross chaining ?
9. I just purchased a 24 speed commuter bike and am a new cyclist. When I am shifting the front gear from 1 to 2, I noticed that the chain does not move up. However, when I push the front gear from 2 to 3, the chain moves from the smallest chain ring to the middle one. This means that I am unable to push the chain to the biggest chain, which is supposedly 3 as that gets me only to the middle one. What do you think is the problem? Should I be shifting the rear gear first before attempting to shift the front gear or vice versa? Please advise. Thanks.
10. Your video is very helpful. I am a newbie to mountain bikes and I've just bought a 21 speed MTB with SHIMANO Tourney TZ50 rear derailleurs and i'm having many problems in adjusting them. Sometimes they don't shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear and i have to shift to the 3rd gear and shift down again. Sometimes i have to shift down twice and again shift up once to lower one gear. I hope you understand my problem and help my situation.

17. This is better explained than other videos I have seen. Shimano gears is what I operate on. derailer 1-3 with a 7 speed mountain bike.
