Not to burst your bubble, but I've ridden "cheap bad bikes" pretty hard. The differences between my high end was negligible.. with a few standard upgrades any bike can be "good." I started with an old puch frame converted to single speed, to a nice fixed gear (which had a broken crank within a few months) , to a wal mart fixed gear (which was honestly very decent)
Recently picked up a critical and for the price it's just right. It's important to remember that taste is subjective and not everyone MUST own high end products. -
is aventon mator low a good bike to start with?

Great video! Do you have any recommendations for a beginner fixed gear for under 200.$? Thank you!
-
fake BMX bikes. 20" or bust
-
Do you have companies you recommend?
-
Can you make a single speed fixe 6ku bike into a fixed gear?

I bought a state bicycle this year and I love it, yeah it's a tank but so am I, 300 lbs. those deep wheels seem to work well for me as far as staying true is concerned, I could see where it could possibly be cheaper but all in all I'm a happy customer.
I appreciate your insight and knowledge on the subject for sure. -
Honest opinion Zach well done .... a person will spend more on a month of burger meals than on a good bike . Buy good bikes guys , you don't need top of the range to have fun , the motor is still you riding them . ...great video Zach

Check out my channel to see my bike. Not all zyclefix bikes are bad. I have a prime zyclefix bike and it is all alloy and it is very strong. It has Matt black paint and it cost me a little over400 dollars. It is an aero triangular tube width frame. Also I weigh well over 250 and I ride it 5 miles to and from class. 10 miles every day. and never had an issue. Please do more research for zyclefix. Also I'm not a beginner been riding it for years now

there's nothing wrong with high-tensile steel frames. personally, they're more comfortable to ride than aluminum frames.

So I'm looking at a bike from Tribe Co. wich has a lot of the things that you talked about. However at my local dealer the really recommended it over Pure Fix, Critical Cycles, Vilano and Retrospect, and the carry them all. So what do you think about this bicycle? It's the Hi-ten HAKA

Your video was really interesting since I'm looking for a bike and I don't know what to buy. Would you please take a look at this german bike (I live in France and the bike would cost about 350 USD) : http://www.goldencycle.de/goldencycle-2pro.html

Rubbish!!! ALL bikes require maintenance! BEFORE you buy a bike, buy a set of tools, and know how to use them, CHEAP bikes are fine, The only people who tell you otherwise have a vested interest in doing so!

I'm almost 5'2 and I bought a 48cm fixie is that okay?
-
Hi Zach, Thank you for the video! I was about to buy a purefix bike, but now I´m giving it a second thought.
So what singlespeed bike is the best quality for the money.
I am currently looking at a Cinelli Bootleg Mystic 2016, whats your opinion? -
unicrown fork is no sign of a bad frame at all
-
I have had pretty good luck with my pure fix wheels

Is my fixed gear bike still cool if know one sees me ?

I was gonna get a bike for $180, thought it looked awesome. But now (I'm a beginner), I know about this form > function thing. Now I shall stick to my Dad's 23 year old bike, which was once $500-$600 brand new. It still is a great ride though. So thanks man for the true advice!
