Often these wheelie videos forget the value in "looping out" or going to far back. You kind of need to do it to feel how far back is too far. Learn to wheelie on flat pedals so you can easily put your feet down. If you go to far back you will just automatically put your feet down and the bike will come out in front of you. Doing this a few times to get comfortable with the feeling and the limits of how far back you can go will be a huge confidence boost, and take the fear right out of the equation. Hope this helps.

Sorry, but to me, Tracy sounds like a police officer,.. still,. she's sexy and she clearly and adeptly explains how to do a wheelie, (though I didn't come here to learn that, I knew already). ;)

2nd front, 5th back is the recipe for success.

why is it so hard to control?

Just to start off wheelying in gear 1 and 1 and then once u can do it there move it up to higher gears also one of the main reasons ppl can't wheelie is that they are scared of falling of backwards and hitting there head and I was to at first but actually it's almost impossible to hit ur head because your feet hit the floor naturally first. What I recommend doing is practis flipping the bike by doing a big pedal lean as much as u can backwards and put one foot down and step off . Do that a couple of times to get used to just standing up backwards then try do a proper wheelie leaning as far as u can and when u feel like u are falling u will put ur foot down and go off the back. Now u just need to find the balance point between flipping and staying up but at least now u r not scared of going as high up as u can because u kno that u cans just land on ur feet.
