Inline Skaters Get Off The Trails - By City Skater Bill Stoppard
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Inline skaters have built rollerblading skills that make them too good to stay confined to the trails. In this narrated skate City skater Bill Stoppard explains why you owe it to yourself to get off the trail, as well as what you should expect once you hit the roads. The best inline skater will use padding when trying new things and the best rollerblader is considerate of pedestrians and rollers. Skates used are Bauer RX20 inline hockey skates. Rollerblading Route is in The Beaches Toronto Ontario Canada. Inline skating filmed by GorPro 2 and 3. Other inline skaters shots on the Canon 5d MII.

Why would my head vibrate, why so much pain? Why is it that much different from the trails? How long does this take to get used to?

a good tip for getting good at Street skating is go out at night. I'm taking 3am when the streets are deserted and you can just go nuts :) make sure it's really well lit obviously. The other advantage is you can hear cars coming a mile away and slow down before they nail you. You can go places you'd never dream of going during the day and it's surprising how much light there is. Also watch out for freshly washed city streets because they are deadly slippery :)

I drive almost exclusively on rough surfaces because of the absence of nice flat ones. LOL

"I would suggest more protective clothing from when you are on the trail" (shows half naked chick on skates) ROFL

Your videos are extremely educational and motivational. Thank you!

Kind of sucks to live in a small town in the UK due to uneven road surfaces (constant patching leaves the road in a worse condition than before) but luckily there are roller discos going on locally so I can skate freely to some music. I actually work at a leisure centre where roller discos are put up and I'm in charge of organising and manning them (music, lighting, giving out skates, ensuring safety etc.) so I get some good practise of control and precise manoeuvring.

so im on the market for some new skates after my 05 vintage Geoblades finally said enough. and ive been considering Hockey style skates, anything that would make them a bad idea for everyday transport?

This shit is like a learning video we would watch in school back in the 80's lol. Music and all.

I hope to be road worthy in a couple of years. Still in "drill it to kill it" mode now though. Want to get proficient with stops and turns first, even before hitting trails.

I love skating but every time I try I fall backwards

Maybe it is better when you are skating where there are pedestrians, to slow it down. In Holland we are only allowed to skate on the sidewalk or bicyclepath.
