He said not to repaint a bike “unless it’s something this” and then he said “this bike, even in this condition, should not be repainted”…? Good videos though man. Don’t paint old bikes!

I'd agree that if the bike has original pin striping or hand painted decals that repainting could be a very bad idea. However if the frame is plain or in poor condition (flakey paint, rust, incomplete detailing, etc.) why not repaint? I'm not talking a cheap automobile paint booth job but a proper frame builder. That said depending on your intentions I think you should be careful to use paints that are not in keeping with colours available at the time. Over-restoration no, sympathetic resto yes!
