biking on the Iron horse trail (a.k.a. John Wayne trail) in Washington state, crossing the Snoqualmie pass tunnel. The trail is an old train track that has been converted to recreational use, and the 2.4 (?) mile tunnel is a great (chilly and dark) thrill for kids of all ages.
