Is a 600cc Bike a Good First Bike?
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Sorry about the video quality. I was accidentally zoomed in. If you get bored skip to the last 3 or 4 min for a funny story. I get some hate directed at me when I make vids like this. But THIS is the reason I make them: "THANK U SO MUCH!!! I would be dead if it wasn't for u Hey 13mordeth, u might remember me, i was the one asking u about the monster as a first bike... Well i got be a old POS 1987 Honda Maxima 600 that i payed $550 for.. And i am having the time of my life with it!! Its old and beet up but still runs great, it has 35 000 Km on it, is very under powered but i love it!! I took your advise and got me a old cheep bike that i can drop as many times and not give a shit. well ive dropped it 6 times hahaha!! The point of my message is that i 100% agree with ur latest video. I got my bike the same time my friend got his. Originally we were both going to go buy brand new sport bikes, then after talking to you my whole outlook of what your first bike should be changed. But my friend was still all hot and horny for a CBR 600 and he got one!!! Now i am having all the fun and he is the one who is shitting himself everytime he gets on it!! He is at the point where he is to nervous to get on it and its more of a display peace in his garage. I got on the cbr 600 last week, in a big parking lot at our local collage, i did not want to ride it for the first time on the roads. and wow!! i would have been dead by now if i bought somthing like that!! so THANK YOU!!! I love my old piece of shit honda!!!! and i plan to keep it for the next couple year before i upgrade!! " And an M13 quote: "I want to learn to juggle, but I'm going to start by learning with chainsaws. But don't worry. I intend to go slow, be careful, stay level-headed, and respect the power of the chainsaws while I'm learning". Be "careful" all you want, go as "slow" as you want, be as "cautious" as you want, be as "respectful" as you want...your still juggling chainsaws! The "level-headed" thing to do in this situation is NOT to start with chainsaws. " - Mordeth13

This video is hilarious.Coming from a guy who couldn't handle a scooter

does micropenises have to do with microsoft ? we the people need to know!

M13, A true hero. Great story man.

u speak the truth. plus u exactly spoke my mind.... and if u go to see when someone starts on a 600 they r used to stuff like ABS which makes their braking not good... and videologgers who say 600 or litre is fine to start with r just stupid people with micropenises.. ;)

If you were a new rider you wouldn't be going four times the speed limit on a road you don't know.. A lot of these arguments just seem redundant especially when you consider the people getting a bike already have years of experience of driving experience.. I think this guy just wants to feel like he has such amazing talent that only he could start on a 600cc motorcycle

I wish I could get a 250 two stroke. Boy, I LOVE living in America, the "land of the free", where you basically can't buy those because they are virtually illegal......
-
I started out on a 125cc, now going for a Ninja 300 but need to get this bike sold first haha. After riding an XJ6 on my tests, I don't think I could handle a 600cc supersport yet. I'm actually in no rush at all and am quite excited to ride a 300.

Where did you get your camera ? and What kind is it ?

Can someone explain this to me?
The new Triumph Bonneville's engine is 865cc but I'm pretty sure it's not as fast as M13 describes 600cc's in this video. -
Good argument, I'm taking your advice in. What do you ride then?

I'm learning on a 91 GSX 750 F. Before this I've never rode anything with two wheels and a motor. I don't suggest it to be honest, because it is extremely powerful. Although I must admit, coming from Nothing, to me this bike seems like it's not very heavy. I haven't crashed yet, so wish me luck. :-) haha

Your efforts are futile....I learned in a150

My first bike was (and still is) my 2005 gixxer 600. As long as you took the msf course, I see no problem with it. I never had an "oh crap" moment...Unless you count the time the battery wire under the seat snapped while turning, the bike stalled and I dropped it. What you say is true, when I rode a 250 it fealt like a bicycle and I could practally get my knee down on a straight road in my lane. Since a 600 was my first bike, I feel as if I could truely say what he said is a lie. Stay under 8,000 rpms, you will be fine.

Stop calling people's opinions stupid, unless you funding, stfu and let them get what they want. If you want a 600 get it, but know your limits, no you aren't invincible, learn the bike, take the class, then ride. If you have discipline and focus you will be fine. They teach you as much as possible (not every scenario can be taught.) I didn't even finish the video but if you think a liter bike is slow, you completely shouldn't be listened to lmfao. And you just compared getting a cheap 250 and driving it as recklessly, vs getting a 600cc and driving safely? Where is your logic? To make it even funnier. I don't even have a bike, I just have common knowledge.
-
I agree with you some people should go with a smaller bike. I started off with a Ninja 650 about a year and a half ago, only reason being I got it for cheap. Anyway wasn't allowed to ride it for a while till I actually took the training course. Pretty good at riding plus I always wear gear just to play it safe.

This is absolutely true. I wouldn't recommend it. I started out riding a 150cc Scooter for a while, like 3-4 months. After riding awhile, I got my 2006 GSXR 600. I have to admit it scared. What I did was only rode it within my neighborhood for like a good month or so just to get use to the throttle and braking of the bike.

I'm not a biker, or bike expert, but 1000cc bikes are quiet? Maybe in other countries, but here in the US most 1000cc bikes I've seen, are louder than a Crack-Cocaine fix needing Banshee, screaming it's head off. Not to be rude or anything, but that's from what I've been around, I don't like them either mainly because of the loud noise. If I'm going to have something with loud noise, I'd rather have a beefy truck again, or a muscle car.

I totally agree. A 600cc sportsbike as a first bike is fucking mental if you dont have any experience riding motorcycles. When i was 14 i got my first 50cc bike, then another 50cc supermotard when i turned 16, then another 50cc scooter
big break of a few yearsthen a 70cc scooter.., in the mean time i rode a CB500 and a GSX1100F and really.. riding a bike like that if you have absolutely no experience at all is just plain stupid! I own an old Honda VF750SC now (yes it's more than a 600cc), but in the mean time i am 24 now with 10+ years of experience riding. -
Paid $1500 for a Yamaha YZF-R1 1000cc, but am not even allowed to ride it in the neighborhood. Took my MSF, but going to have to sell it. I even already bought sliders for it.
