i wouldnt say get this bike first. the handling is difficult... its fine, very fine! it could catch a new rider out easily. experience is key. also totally handled different to a standard road bike... tight slow street corners are a nightmare! you'd be better with a 650 bandet, or gsx650f. if you're highly experienced, you can botch the handling to make it work on the street... but this bike is specifically designed for experienced riders on a track. Dont get me wrong.. i love the bike!

All the advises noted, thanks mate. :)

I'm actually going to get my first bike, which happens to be a 600, and this really woke me up. I know I'm new to riding, but actually hearing someone say 'you're new, take it easy' really helps! So I'm actually quite glad I came across this video.
Many say I probably shouldn't start on a 600, let alone a supersport, and I know deep down inside I shouldn't; but hell, how do you resist a piece of art in motion? -
Hello mate, loving your motovlogs, I've got a quick question if you can answer it... I was looking at getting a 2001-2002 Honda CBR 600 FS as a first bike, I don't know if you are aware of this bike. would you know anything about this bike? any insight would be appreciated.
Cheers bud...keep you the Vlogs! -
I love all bikes

Great vlog. I've just passed my test and I went for a second hand CBR600F. I've come here with a background of BMX riding, race-prepped scooter riding, CBR125 riding (lots of) and 20 odd years of driving. I think your comments are spot on. Anyone can get a 600 sportsbike but it does require a bit of maturity. If you have the self control then I reckon it's probably safer riding a 600 than something less powerful. It gives you more options in day-to-day situations. You can twist and go before the trouble even starts - especially on M way slip roads joining fast traffic etc.
I gotta say I find the big CBR even easier to control at slow speed than the 125. If you can get the inertia of the big bike to work for you - it's easier than riding a bicycle. As far as the corners go - the 125 is pretty good (with the right rubber) but the 600 is just leagues ahead. Just don't go in too hot and squeeze on the power progressively if it's greasy. You know all this - but I just wanted to add my tuppence-worth ! I'm keeping my 125 but the 600 is just fantastic. The only thing I need now is a CR 250 ! -
So i Can start on GSXR 600 but its what i do and how i control it.say how tall are u im new to channel im like 5'2 thats maybe a issue

I started on a Aprilia rs125 and even for a 125 they are very awkward to ride being two stroke as well..now got my full licence and my first big bike is a 07 gsxr600 and honestly it's easier to ride than the Aprilia I have no problem at low speed my bike handling skills are good...it's all about common sense you could go out and kill your self on any bike doesn't have to be a supersport bike

Nice Bike!! What is the fuel consumption of this engine if you normally drives? For example, say that you have 100 a 120 km per hour with a full tank. Thanks in advance for your answer!

capability is a huge aspect in the decision to ride super sport bikes. but you are talking about that sixxer like it's a 1000cc.
-
can you tell me in which place are you riding bro???

My bikes since learning:
ybr 125
cb500
gsx650f
gsxr600 and ybr125 and gsx650f
So, I definitely say no to getting gsxr600 first bike. Why? Because its not a good road bike except in the right conditions. It doesn't handle tight corners very well... I'm very experienced with the bike and its still a massive ball ache and not fun when i come across them. I sometimes have to lean the bike at low speed to make it round tight street corners or tight mini roundabouts... not fun! This requires perfect throttle and control... great familiarity with bikes in general and even then its stressful. controls are extremely sensitive... a slip on the throttle could throw a learner off easily. This not a forgiving machine!
So, why do i have it.. ? because its fun most of the time... i love the sensitivity, the lightweight, how the riding position feels... the acceleration. On roads with bends that resemble a race track, this bike is a razer sharp pleasure to ride. for the rough conditions I have tones of every day riding experience and familiarity with the bike.
So, if you've recently come off a small bike and you're getting your first big bike with a sporty look / feel... here's my recommendation:
gsx650f its heavy, and steady... but doesn't feel heavy when its moving and its punchy!. Its fairly nimble... and very importantly its a bike designed for the road... great round tight corners.. great over bumps.. kick arse headlights that turn night into day. it looks super sporty and cool to boot. I like it so much i recently went out and bought it again! As the last one I had got rammed in the side whilst stationary (with me on it!). -
Good review and I agree with you about having some riding experience but what if you have no riding experience at all ? I have a friend who is thinking of getting a gsxr600 to have as a first bike and has never ridden a bike before , I told him it more than likely is gonna be to much for him and to get something like sv650 to start with but he will do what he wants because I don't think my opinion and advise steered him from the idea as he's set on one ! Oh well lol

Is gsxr 600 better than gsr 600 ?
-
In my country I can buy two 600cc supersport bikes for the same price as one 250/300cc bike
-
No the 600 is not more comfortable you're going to be switching gears a lot more if you call that comfort. But to each is own. You ride the bike the bike does not ride you, everyone has their own personal preference, just be safe man.
