Jab @ U.K. Ministry For Transport/DVLA over E-Bike Pedal Requirements

After studying and researching E-Bike law in the U.K. for the last few years now, I can honestly say after contacting the Ministry For Transport (so many times)requesting one picture, a name...a make or a reference to a legal E-Bike in the U.K.. I can confirm that the MFT can't provide one! NOT ONE! LEGAL E-BIKE! They are happy to send you to e.a.p.c. websites for references when you ask them the question, but they wont actually admit 'your right there are no legal e-bikes in the u.k. only legal e.a.p.cs'. The answer here is : E-Bikes though they come under e.a.p.c law, and that law requires you to have pedals, are still legal without pedals as by definition an e-bike does not have pedals, and to have pedals on an e-bike is to modify it to the point of reclassification of an e.a.p.c. This was confirmed by a Canadian judge recently, and should be clarified to an equal level here in the U.K., but we don't like progression here anymore, and we cant actually get any clarity on this most greenest form of transport, as we are not big corporates with large sums of doe to lobby them.

I think the police are busier giving parking tickets and keeping an eye on important stuff like covering up for political paedophiles.. I meant executing warrants than an Ebike

If the pedals are in the way, do like this guy in Canada did. He positioned the Cranks so they were parallel to each other , then positioned them so they were out of the way by securing the sprocket. Another thing to do is buy a scooter that has the ability to swap out to a more powerful motor from China or the USA. Like 750 watts. Might need a bigger controller, though.
