Thank you for finally explaining why I think most modern action movies look like shit. They look like just jumbled clips of people reacting to air punches... I always loved Jackie and he always seemed so sincere and his movies always had a weight I couldn't explain and now I can.

I know the power of cinema is making you believe you're seeing something that's not actually there but... In the age of overused CGI, shaky cameras, hectic editing and stunt doubles, Jackie's real hard work should be appreciated more. He's great.

I grew up with the American Jackie Chan movies like Rush Hour. I didn't really appreciate Jackie until my friend had a VHS labelled "The Drunken Boxer". I believe that was one of his earlier Chinese films and it is far superior to any of the American ones I've seen.
