Only going back 10 years to 2005 with this great song from Katie Melua" which made it to number 5 in the UK charts, i think Katie is a great singer, and this is probably one of my favourites of the songs she has recorded and a good one for some Sunday listening...

I actually did hear this one several times, Carl, and liked it very much, but didn't know who did it .. till now. As much as I hated the turn pop music took back around 2000 (essentially dominated by old style rap and Britney Spears), I started tuning in to pop music FM stations again in the early summer of 2007 and found that some of the hip hop and rap had matured enough to bring back melody into what had been a "words only" medium for so long, and that also actual songwriting and music was back again, although largely dominated by women. That was the first year I heard the now late Amy Winehouse, Sara Bareilles, Fergie, Rihanna, Pink, Sean Kingston, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, and got introduced to rap artists like Kanye West, T-Pain, and Timbaland (love the song "Scream" although the video itself could have been a little better). Somewhere along the way I heard this song, whether it was a pop music station or alternative, can't recall. I stayed pretty much with new music until 2009 ... the year when my father died and my life changed in such a way I found that (once again) I had no desire to keep up with current music as much as I was. Still, I get updated somewhat by being on YT, and many of the YT artists are as good or much better than the mainstream ones anyway. Anyway, good song, singer, and video there, with very intelligent lyrics. Definitely a thumbs up!

Personally I think this is one of the best songs Katie has ever done. Just the lovely restful style makes it such a pleasure to listen yo and is a hit on my MP3 Player. Thanks for the share Carl and have great week.
