My German Pointer pulling my bike. Sled Dog

Pongo did the same thing when his owner, Roger, was on a bike. Pongo didn't want to lose sight of Perdita.

Leah! Leah! Leah, slow down! Slow down!
-
Too fast*
-
Awesome! I love to do that with my pointer! But want time she was going to fast and we made a sharp turn and I fell off.

Mush, Mush..! I had a GSP as a kid back in the 70's-early 80's; and like your girl, he could run forever. These dogs love nothing better than to run all day; and many a time "Rocky" pulled my bike (or sled in winter.) Anyway, thanks for posting this. (The sight of those flapping ears sure brought back some memories, and a big lump in my throat.)

@SparklingStar123 my black lab pulled me for two years, she had massive shoulders and I'm still the only one that can walk her. i just held the lead with one hand, bars in the other, never thought about an attachment...

How did you train the left/right commands? I have a GSP as a marathon training partner. But I would like to start bikejoring with her soon. The left/right command seems KEY. Great video, btw. And great team! Thanks

Most women would be too chicken to pull something like this. You got balls, lady.

The rabbit dog is awesome, and Leah is FAST! I just started scootering with my GSP using a Diggler DSK. The "gangline gizmo" they sell to keep the gangline out of the wheel is great - absolutely no accidents/issues using it. I think the rabbit dog really makes a huge difference. Nice video!!

I love ur dogs. :) I do this all the time with my border collie.
-
Wow! Your dog can go! Nice to have that rabbit dog along too.
-
Thats really cool! My GSP pup will learn this when he is older :)

Haha! That's brilliant! And to succesfully teach a Pointer left and right is fab! I have an English Pointer who is attached with a gizmo to the side of my bike. The idea is he runs WITH me, but he does the Husky impression and PULLS really well! I'm trying to find an outlet for a good harness for him - most of the ones on the market are anti-pulling which defeats the object really! Enjoy the ride!!

I just got my GSP/Black lab mix today and I'm planning on teaching her to do this. My Golden will help the most though lol. Cute dog and LOL You're going so fast XD Roller coaster! P.S. Never...ever attempt on Ice....last year was so fail. LOL
-
Thanks for the info. I shall start teaching the commands now.
-
That is brilliant. I'm getting my GSP pup in a few weeks and I'm gonna try it.. When do you start training them? Is it better to wait till they are full grown? But perhaps start teaching them voice commands as a pup?
-
my gsp does the same to me.... he flies!
-
awesome run!
-
If the dog is running ahead and you keep the bike in check, the line should remain taut through the run. you could also look at getting a Bay-O-net attachment for the bike.

Holy cow look at her go! I'd love to have her as a partner for my husky! Good run!
