Learning how to ride a bicycle doesn't have to be difficult or painful. With the proper size bike frame, a helmet and a few minutes of practice just about anyone can get it. To begin, lower the saddle so you can sit on the bike with both feet reaching the ground for stability. Next, kick along with both of your feet and get used to balancing. Once you're comfortable coasting for short distances try putting one foot on the pedal while kicking with the other. Make sure you know how to use the brakes (some bicycle pedal backwards for braking and others have hand brakes). The final step is kicking off and putting both feet on the pedals. At this point you should be able to pedal the bike and stay balanced but if you feel like falling you can just put a foot down to catch yourself. enjoy riding your bike for exercise, affordable transportation and to meet new people in the community.
