but what's the point? people walk almost as fast as this, and this requires perfectly flat surface it's just another gadget which you can get for sb's christmas/bday present and it will be used like two times, and than thrown away. it doesn't solve any problems, it's not as fun/fast as actual skates. But maybe it will become popular in united states of obesity

Can't wait till people start calling them "Hover skates" despite them having wheels like they did the cyboard

Seriously, I don't give a shit about the Phone app. It wont make me buy one for that reason. I want to know the specs. How many Watt-hours of lithium batteries. Hub motor wattage ? In other word, do these have more than a one or two mile range at 12 mph speed ?? How many life cycle (battery charges) to expect when you push the hell out of them (always riding 12 mph, with a lot of stop-accelerate at city lights)... Is it just a toy for you to play a few minutes a day or can you commute your 10 miles per day to the job ??? I seriously doubt that there could be any use at all for commuting as the product is designed right now. What I would like to buy though is skates that look more steathly with a wired backpack battery (wire running under pants) for a real practical range (I'm thinking a 13S4P 10amp-hours at 48 volts 481 Wh lithium battery). Each skate would need to be at least 250 watts nominal power, and since the battery would be on my back (not in the skates themselves) the skake woul not need to be that bulky and ugly.

If they only run for such a short time why would you not just use regular roller blades? I doubt you get a speed increase.
