Life on two wheels: Where do bicycles belong?
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
The city of Dallas recently approved the updated Dallas Bike Plan, which includes trail improvements and incorporating bike lanes into Dallas streets. It could take some time to see the changes because the city doesn't have the millions needed to put the plan in place. But even without a bicycling infrastructure, cyclists and motorists can still coexist. There are already many people in our neighborhood proving that it's possible to get around without a car. Cycling enthusiasts are eager to get others on bikes, but there are still some who think bikes don't belong on the road and that any money spent on a bike plan is wasted. Advocate photo editor Turk recently talked with them for our March 2011 cover story: http://lakewood.advocatemag.com/2012/02/20/to-be-a-bike-savvy-city-we-have-a-lot-to-learn

A Univ of Florida study found that 96% of the bicycles on the road in America are used for exercise only...NOT for "point A to point B transportation our commuting. So....let's ALL exercise on the road!!! Let's bring our treadmills, barbells, stair climbers, gym mats and jump ropes into the road, take up about 8 feet of the slow lane and see how THEY like it for a change!!!!!!!!!

If bicycles were invented a month ago, and the inventer was up before Congress trying to get them legalized for street use, what do you think his/her chances would be? Clearly they would be laughed out of the chambers. These things have NO PLACE on our roads and should only be allowed in areas with bike lanes. They're only legal because they've been around forever. THAT doesn't make them safe in today's world.
