Origin of the Name — Lizard Skins: "There were two original founders, myself and Lance Larson. Lance sold out to me in 2001. Lance's brother was working on a project for a college class that involved creating a name and a logo for a company. He came up with the name Lizard Skins and the original yin and yang style logo. He didn't have any actual company in mind when he created the name and logo he just thought it would be a cool name and catchy logo. Not sure how well he did on the assignment but I would give him an "A" if I were the teacher. After about one year, Lance asked if he could use the name and logo for a company. Lance's brother said 'sure'." Company Beginnings: "It was extremely small. When we started, we could fit the entire business on one table. Our first ad was a twelfth page for Mountain Bike Action magazine. We had to race to FedEx to get it sent out and barely met the deadline for it. We immediately started receiving calls from the ad before we were even really ready to take them. If we had missed that ad deadline, Lizard Skins might have never taken off." http://lizardskins.com Video Produced by http://www.seovod.com

-
This is honestly the most overrated tape on the market and is terrible when wet.
-
Thanks very useful video best tape I have ever used
-
I just fitted mine, it looks sweet when it's finished, but I just realized I wrapped it so the adhesive on the back of the bar tape stuck to the top of the tape, not to the handlebar metal itself. Does this matter??
-
who else is watching this for there second or third time just bc of how satisfying it looks

I'm sorry to say but lizard skins tape sucks! That bright red is gonna fall apart in a week or two. Notice underneath that it's white? Well the color, any color, is a super thin layer of plastic that wears through fast and you'll see the white, or grey, foam everywhere. Complete garbage.

Perhaps a stupid question, but since it is named after animals, is it made of real skin?

very clear installations instruction :-))

Thanks for putting this up. It came in handy doing my first tape job. My new orange Lizard Skins are sweet.

I like this tape but the other one you do, that has little dots on, is impossible to fit. Just wasted £30.

what happens if you stretch the tape?

I was always told to wrap away or towards the outside of the bars as your hands naturally want to grip and twist to the outside as you are riding. If you wrap to the inside that would tend to want to unravel the tape ( with the modern sticky tape this is probably not going to happen either way ). Also it seems unnecessary to use the clamp strip and the figure 8 both at the same time, just creates a lot of bulk at the levers. Have you ever had a tape that was so sticky that when came time to remove it came off in chunks and pieces.

wrong.. you wrap inside, TOWARDS the bike.
