You have a terrible intro.
-
Clickbait title, shit review
-
Who rides a motorcycle in the winter?
-
You call this a review, but it's really just a big rant about the bike. It's incredibly biased. Let's get this straight:
- You hate the lack of exhaust noise
- You find it stressful to ride
- You feel like a dork riding it
- The range bothers you and you think they should add more (despite it being the LOWEST range bike in the Zero line-up FOR A REASON -- it's marketed at city users!
- You think it lacks acceleration above 50 mph (not true as evidenced at 20:50 in the video) -
lets hope in couple of years that batterys will get faster and cheaper..
-
Is this the 3.3kwh?
-
your opinion is one thing but you sound a little insecure

The technology for batteries is getting better. Electric will take over and we can be rid of oil and the wars they create. Traditionalists won't like the EV's, but they all will get used to it and it will be the norm. As far as range, it will get so much better. The Brutus V9 can go 275 miles right now.
The range is not the only issue. As you stated, you will have to head home and ensure that there is enough energy to get you there. This will change in the near future as well. There will be just as many EV stations as gas stations. I work with a company that is proposing to install 92 in Missouri. This will help ease the range anxiety. Don't get anything that is less than a 17kW battery pack. As far as performance? You will ALWAYS get better performance from EV's than gasoline. The power is instant. Losing the tax credit for the two and three wheeled EV's does suck. A lot. The prices will come down. I give it two to three years.
If you look at some of the EV bikes BMW plans on releasing, you wouldn't call them "queer." lol. They look like Tron inspired them. Keep watching for these. Remember, when gasoline motors first came out, the range was shitty and the performance was poor. This is no different. THEY WILL GET BETTER. If people don't buy them now, they won't get better because they won't have the funding to do so. -
Doesn't seem like a great option for motorcyclists.

It's an MP412C

If you up the battery and it weighing more, it needs to put out more power.. Get where I'm going with this? So you could end up with a bigger bike, weighing more and still doesn't go anywhere. It's dependent upon the batteries. Tesla has it figured it and tesla also doesn't make two wheeled vehicles... So... Predicament.

My Zero SR has a bigger battery than the FXS and a 130 mile range in the Santa Cruz Mountain twisties.
There is also a on-board charger that will recharge a SR in ~ 1 hour. -
Not everyone who rides motorcycles needs to express masculinity everywhere we go with loud exhaust and high speeds.
-
Good review but misinformed reviewer.
-
Comments around 11min really are apples to oranges. This is an SM bike, weight, etc. is similar to gas powered. Zero X street bike versions are 400+ pounds w/greater range (>100 miles).

Before I actually learned how to ride I was so afraid of vehicles with a clutch. So I can definitely understand how a newbie would want to ride something with no gears. But yea that's like the only positive I see. lol

Hah, he's going to sell it, when it only has half the battery pack in it? Tell him if he doubles the battery pack, the range will double too. It's in spec for range for half the battery capacity, right on spec. Did he just not read the spec?
-
that was a parking light. most cars have that and he must have turned it on by accident
-
Wrong bike for the intended use. Don't complain if your screwdriver sucks at hammering nails. Zero makes lots of bikes that will easily do 100 miles. Do the research, be a happy consumer.

2014 Zero SR (with battery pack) Highway@113 km/h - 141 km
2015 Zero SR (with battery pack) Highway@113 km/h - 151 km
2016 Zero SR (with battery pack) Highway@113 km/h - 158 km
Need some big breakthroughs in battery / energy to go to market
