In this mode, the light works exactly like the car tail light. In night time mode, on riding, there is a tail light in minor ; on braking, the 5 super bright LED's light up in maximum. As bicycles are defined as "2-wheel vehicle" in traffic regulation, bikers without front/ tail lights are fined in traffic law violation. (in many countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan, etc.)

This is not a proper brake light. The unit cannot tell the difference between motion and braking. Having spent for a non-returnable unit I am now considering hacking the unit so I can run a wire to the LED's. I am still needing to use the functional $9 unit I have because it is a brake light. $50 USD cost for this motion detector Maxxon "brake" light. No one will take the "brake light" seriously in traffic if it comes on when it wants to and not when you need it.
