bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
*Update* Someone cut the lock off and stole it while getting coffee in Huntington Beach, CA. I'm offering a reward to anyone who helps me recover it. S/N: 038US0723058M58 Purchased from bikesdirect for $499 shipped. Great entry level bike. Aluminum frame, with carbon forks. I've been taking it on 40-50 mile rides several times a week. No issues so far. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/mirage_pro_xii.htm

sorry to hear about your bike. There is a special burning place in hell for thieves. Personally I'd kill them all if I could!

Can you compare this to the Motobecane Turino?

I have this bike..Its the "butters" I love it..Dropping all my mtn bike oldies... Ya heard...

Do you ride with groups and if so we're you able to stay with the group on the bike. Does it roll smooth? Does the bike seem light weight. Is the shifting smooth when shifting gears? Does it handle good on turns? How is it when u hit hills, do you feel u have enough gears to easily make it up hills. Can u get good speeds on flats and downhills. Sorry about the piece of sh!t that stole ya bike.

Sorry to hear about some ass taking your bike. I have had 2 bikes stolen from me in the past 3 months. One of them was a Scott Road bike and the other was a Diamondback Hybrid. Both from my fenced in back yard.

what lock were you using?
-
I never had it weighed, but if I had to guess, maybe 24 pounds.
-
I just bought this bike, how much does it weight? The shipping weight is 30lbs.
-
Unfortunately, no. I did all that I could. Filed a police report, uploaded my bikes serial number and info to several bike theft registry websites. Tweeted my bikes info, and I occasionally check craigslist and eBay. I'm guessing it was probably parted out. I started to get into cycling a lot so I upgraded to a carbon fiber bike.

Did you ever get it back?

$499. I think bikesdirect is sold out of this model in most sizes. But pretty much every bike that they sell is a good bike for the money. Any $500 road bike they sell should be a good entry level bike,

How much?

Got my Wellington 3.0 stolen in july. Outside NYU. The S.O.B cut the cable and left me the lock. Lets just say i learned an expensive lesson. Upgrading bike and lock this time around. believe me i wont make te same mistake twice. Good luck with your next bike.

I used a cheap cable lock before this bike got stolen. With my new bike I bought a kryptonite new york mini U lock, which is one of the highest rated locks. pricey but worth it. No thief has tried to cut it so far and i've locked up my bike in many places. A mid priced U lock should be fine for bikes that cost under $500.

I just got a biike..did you use a D-lock or a U-lock? Sorry to hear

I never had the chain come off. No mechanical problems. I live in a flat beach city, so I didn't get a chance to do any mountain rides, but I did ride in some hilly areas, and it climbs pretty good. Not only am I still into road biking, but I am into it even more. I am going on longer rides, and I do at least 3-4 rides a week. I consider myself a full on cyclist now. Go get your feet wet!
