I ride a Kawasaki Versys, which has a very tall saddle height to begin with and fits taller people nicely. At 6'4" and with a 36" inseam, I wanted more leg room and a more comfortable fit though. The least expensive modification is to get a foot peg lowering kit. It's less than $50 and fairly easy to install and gains you about 1" of leg room. If you still want more leg room and don't mind investing a bit more in your ride, a custom saddle can be purchased for under $500. I bought my 2009 bike used with only 2,300 miles, but it had a small tear on the seat so getting a custom saddle with an extra inch of height was a no brainer for me. I found that once I raised the seat, that the handlebar position felt a little bit odd, so for another $50 I was able to get a handle bar riser was also easy to install. The combination of these mods have made for the perfect fit. The good news is that tall people can enjoy motorcycles comfortably. A foot peg lowering kit, custom seat and handlebar riser should help with any bike. And if you're in the market for a motorcycle that fits tall people well to begin with, consider the Kawasaki Versys, Suzuki V-Strom and BMW models. For fit, style and value for money, I'm really happy with my Versys.
