you do a great job on your builds I totally agree with you and your choice thanks for posting. I have built my first one and love it I get a lot of thumbs up for it.
-
looks like you did a great job ! the bikes look very nice . but , a moped has pedals . a scooter does not have pedals.
-
Hay I live in LA CA is it legal to have a 80cc engine on my bike? Do I need other requirements or should I get a 50cc engine?
Thank you. -
Just put together a motorized adult trike. Not only does it have the mentioned advantages, but it's also just rewarding as heck to see what you've built come to life and work!
-
also in my state ( as in most states) registration is minimal (some states have no registration) and no insurance is required in most states. and there are many places to get parts for MOPEDS, (again you keep confusing mopeds with scooters)
-
WRONG: with a moPED you can pedal it around. you keep confusing scooter with moped in this video
-
thanks for the vid .i have 80 cc 2 stroke engine on my bicycle , was wondering if u know about the types of spark plugs that suits it.
-
I watched some of your other vid thx for the advise on engine sizes. I didn't know a 212 was even out there, but your right about it over stressing the frames...very good advise.
-
no they didn't only the motorized bikes had pedals . don't get me wrong I think your motorized bikes are very cool. but what you are referring to as mopeds aren't mopeds they are scooters
-
those weren't mopeds. everyone was a scooter . a moped has pedals hence the ped in moped
-
Sinister do you sell these online?.
-
some mopeds and scooters look good tho .Like the Honda Urban .Which in my state is classified as a moped but really it just a super compact motorcycle.

So location makes a hell of a lot of difference, Here in the U.K Any vehicle used on the Public Highway, Must have a Log Book (This will state type of vehicle). It must be Fully registered and Min Crash Insurance, When it is 3 years old it must have an annual MOT (Certificate of road worthiness). Min age 16 only thing you can ride is a Moped (Max 50cc and designed not to exceed 30 MPH), Any modification to increase cc or Speed will render it as an illegal Moped so can no longer be driven on the Public Highway. You must Pass a Compulsory Basic Training course before you can ride on the Public Highway. Passing the CBT gets you a Learners License valid for 2 years, During that time you must Pass the relevant Driving test to get that Full License (Valid any where in the U.K until you are 70). There are no other places you can legally ride them apart from on Private Property (This means a gated/fenced off area that no one can just ride/drive onto with the Land Owners permission. After that we have 3 different size based Motor Bike Licenses, So in some ways it is easier here as every where is the same and no needing a new License when you move States (We call them Counties) but in others the rules have changed so we conform to EU regulations, At one time aged 17 we could buy any size Motor Bike and ride it on "L" Plates and decide if you wanted to wear a helmet or not

I like your bikes but you don't know what a moped is ... your talking about a scooter / Vespa. ( all Vespa's are scooters but all scooters are not Vespa's) a moped is a motor assisted bicycle made in France. Maybe the terms have changed over the years for these things but buddy, a MOPED is a French made motor assisted bicycle that you can kill the motor and ride down a bike path and park it in a bike rack on the sidewalk. Just saying

That last motorized bike with the chain saw on it was hilarious! :-D
-
Nice. Got my questions answered.
-
How much $$ do you charge for the yellow one with the number three on it?
-
you are comparing mopeds to scooters not motorized bikes to mopeds.

The correct term for a motorised bike (dating back for a century) is a "Cycle motor".
Cycle motor: A bicycle converted to alternative propulsion by an internal combustion motor. The earliest form of powered two wheeler and dates back over 100 years.
Moped: An extremely light motorcycle manufactured with pedal drive assist (Light pedal assist / LPA on early motorcycles) but primarily propelled by an internal combustion motor. Usually, but not always has suspension (of sorts). Usually 50cc and restricted (detuned) in some countries to between 22 MPH (Holland) and 30 MPH (Europe and some US states). Full power unrestricted mopeds require a motorcycle licence and insurance.
Sc**ter: Not actually a moped (despite similar engine capacity) but a powered two wheeled vehicles intended for women and those too wimpish to ride a proper moped, cycle motor or motorcycle. Electric versions also available Toyota Prius owners who want to venture onto two wheels but remain sanctimonious obnoxious smug gits.
Finally insurance isn't a "hastle and expense" to be avoided. It is there to take the direct financial burden should one be unfortunate be liable for an accident whilst out riding and be legally obliged to compensate the injured party / parties. Using any motor vehicle without insurance then being liable for an accident equals being in debt for the rest of one's life.
