Is WD-40 OK?

This has to be the best video I've seen for bike maintenance. Video quality, audio quality, knowledge. Just perfect. I can't believe this guy doesn't have more subscribers.
-
why not use WD 40? its the best water displacement and cleaning product on the market, I use it all the time on the bike

nice tips

sir do you mind if i ask you? how many bikes do you have?

Good tips on solving creeking noises.
During maintenance, often times you'll install new rotors and pads with a fresh bleed at the beginning of a season, sometimes the rotor will rub slightly on on the pads. Not enough to really stop the wheel but there is a small amount of resistance. Is that Normal? Almost seems like I need more spacing between the new pads or do I need to disasemmble and push the pistons in even further? I used the yellow brake block during the bleed, I figured that should dictate the right amount of spacing. I've already used a tie wrap and tighten down on the brake caliper mounting to align it to the rotor but that didn't help. Any ideas?
Do you ever go through setting the lever reach and free stroke as well as the minimum distance you'll allow the lever to get to the grips when the brakes are fully enaged? -
I assume weight in my case 128kg makes choosing the right pads more important

I would be cool if you just listed all the steps in a complete bike overhaul. just an idea for a future video.

Loads of great information. Thank you for sharing!!!

Excellent vids Clint, they are the best of their kind I have been able to find. I have not started biking yet, but I am moving near a mountainous region soon and plan to start riding. What bike could you recommend for a beginner mountain riding, who also wants to use the bike for some light commuting? Price range would be 1500US and under.

very good video nice bike ,tnks for your experience. see you in Rome!

Thanks Clint for the awesome video but I was wondering if you could say why you should do something or an entire video on why.

Great Video. I would just add that it is also a good idea to periodically check the frame-and rims/hubs/fork/seatpost/stem/handlebar-for any cracks or deformations. This should be done after any kind to crash or abnormal impact (such as a big rock getting flung up into frame). Also, after cleaning the bike is a great time to go over frame (doing this outside on a sunny day really helps any imperfections to pop out). Just last week I just found a small crack on the chainstay of my 2000 Specialized FSR Enduro. Still riding it, but keeping a sharp eye on that crack.

Nice video, keep it up! :)

I think there is a lot of debate whether or not it is worth it to replace a chain frequently.
-
How to lube chain: 1. Whipe off dust 2. lube 3.Wipe dry. You can use used paper towels from the kitchen. Scraps of cardboard is good for cleaning gunk form chain rings, cassette and jokey wheels.

You are the best bike youtuber on youtube!
-
not video related, but I knew you ride giants and I was wondering how you change the stem on giant bikes due to the different size
-
Hey Clint, I too have that chain checker. My chain reads about .5%. But my chain will still skip in one or two of the middle gears (the cassette). What are your thoughts on the other possibilities of why this happens if the chain isn't worn?
