hubba is okay, if anyone is looking for a better set-up try the marmot tungsten models. I picked up a 3 man marmot tungsten and it's utterly amazing. A must have for serious backpacker/yak packer hikers etc.

I regret I bough it yellow 7yrs ago. Great tent anyway!

The zipper is usually easy to repear yourself. There are 2 ways to make the zipper a bit tighter that it can close correctly again. Look at the videos. Sry, it is in german but you get the idea.

I'm perfectly fine with my 2 person hubba hubba Version. -
£285 I don't think I'll be purchasing this!

Over time the zippers loosen which causes them to fail. If you squeeze each side gently with a pair of pliers you can recover them, just be careful not to overdo it because this makes them stiff.

you know msr gear has a life time garante? you should contact them about the zipper they will probably fix it for you!

You said it was a 3 person tent? Looks like a 1 person 3 (season) tent.

Nice video!

i had my hubba nx 2 months in spain ....sleeping in lot of different areas...also raining nights...i never had a better tent !
and it looks so cool ..much space inside...less wheigt...really good quality - no damage has coming to it- but - take care if you smoke inside and you want to light your smoke - the mesh dont likes fire so much ;) -
When the tent is wet from the morning dew how do you pack it up? Do you dry it somehow or just pack it wet?
-
roll the tent poles in the rest of the tent and it works just fine... longer but narrower

Nice tent but I use the USMC Bednet. Takes up less room in the pack. Sets up faster. opens on both sides. Large enough to store pack and other gear on one side out of the weather and still have a vestibule on the other side that can be used to cook out of the weather with alcohol or propane stove. and Battle tested. Made in USA. Able to find excellent condition tents on Ebay for under 100 bucks.

awesome video

I would go for the 2P Hubba Hubba every time. 1P Hubba is just too small especially if cycle touring. Elixir is slightly more heavy duty with almost semi-geodesic pole arrangement and very slightly heavier fabric 3 season. Hubby Hubba NX is 2 season and lighter.

dead on. i wore out before my hubba did.

nyc review and Gud video...
thanx -
The zipper problem can be easily fixed. What happens is the top and bottom of the metal piece starts to get farther apart, so the plastic zipper teeth don't get pressed together. Can be fixed by gently squeezing both sides of the metal piece with pliers or whatever you happen to have. Just don't squeeze it so hard that the piece won't move.

Excellent! I have a Vango Blade 2. Quite interesting with one long pole front to back. Used it only one wild camping night on the Scottish island of Arran and it was fine and roomy for one but two would still have been ok I think. Will it last 3 years solid? I doubt if I will ever find that out! I had to tie it on top of my panniers along with my self-inflating mat and was rather rear heavy. I now have some cheap front panniers for my next island adventure.

Darren, great review!!!! I have a MSR Carbon reflex 2 loved the tent but had issues with the main pole Breaking ... I'm looking into the MSR Hubba Hubba 2 p tent. Why I prefer a 2p I can get all my great inside,if it's raining I can pack all my gear inside the tent and pack my tent last( my friend 4x thru-hike tip).. I'm a backpacker so I watch the weight as well. I look forward to bike touring some this yr. Keep the videos coming and wish you the best with your "C". Keep the FaitOne more thing... You don't have issues with raccoons, possums, from eating in your tent? I know backpacking we hang our food due to bears mainly.. I'm assuming you camp in bear country.

Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.
And you must be very careful using your tent. There is no anodizing worn off, no tears in the screen, no holes in the floor. I might even say, no signs of use.
