what about the giant revolt?

check my review of the 2017 model on my channel guys

Thanks, this is the review I was searching for. The points you made were specifics I needed in regards to the taller tube. The comax is my prefered choice for purchase. Thanks

One huge problem, the Specialized can only take a 35 mm max width tire; the Giant can take 45 mm. Don't know about you, but in riding off road, wider is better. I was slipping and sliding on a heavily graveled road when I used 35's, but when I switched to 45's the handling as well as ride comfort improved significantly. In my opinion, most of these gravel bikes can't take a wide enough tire and their gearing is too high as well. They are basically closer to a road bike than a mountain bike in capability off road. I've ridden some steep and nasty dirt roads that would have me pushing one of these gravel bikes instead of riding. My gravel bike is equipped with mountain bike gearing and 45 tires.

Excellent review. Dollar for dollar, it seems you get more for your money with Giant. Having said that, there are other things you didn't mention. The Anyroad comes with extra brake levers on the top tube, which help on long, bumpy descents to be able to move your hands around. The Diverge also has the Zertz inserts. Some call them a gimmick, I did, until I rode one. Not a huge difference, but it is a little noticeable.

Cześć - czy mogę gdzieś znaleźć wersję polskojęzyczną tego filmu. Szukam wiarygodnej opinii o Giant Anyroad...zastosowanie - w miarę wygodny i uniwersalny rower na szosę i w lekki teren...

Having just purchased a 2017 Anyroad 1, I can tell you the photos are deceiving. The bikes are longer than they first appear seat to handlebar, and I found the seat, at least for me much higher than the bars as well. I think it comes down to proper fitting and choosing the right frame for this style of bike. Maybe they do the photos like that because more commuters will buy the bike than racers, but it can certainly do either job. Having tried a few road bikes including Giant, and Ridley, the riding position I have is similar, just a little less aggressive.

The one thing that can't be missed is the vibration damping technology like in Bianchi's infinito CV. The alloy version weighs about the same as the COMAX model. All carbon fiber are mixed with other materials...some don't tell you they do. It was made to go in brick pavements and rocky roads.

From the pictures it appears the Giant stem has 4 spacers under it and the Specialized has none. If you wanted it the same height as the Specialized then maybe you could just remove some or all of the spacers.

This bike was not designed for fast riding, so what are you harping on about? The upright position is correct for the recreational rider user group this bike is designed for. In contrast the Specialized Cyclo X bike suits a more athletic rider who prefers a lower riding position.

"not that expencive" -_- i have a bike for 140$ and now i only drolling on bikes like those in video. Thanks for the dollar exchange rate they cost about 4 month salary in a row(

I am really having trouble figuring out who this bike is aimed at. I raced road for years and I recently got a "gravel bike" for a good price and i will be using it for touring after a serious revamp of the components. Good points made here. Its a high end commuter bike. And that is great, if you need to spend 1300 to ride your bike, i love it. I actually love the fact that you can get a really nice bike that is not for competition. Those lines are blurring and i dig it. But you can get a much better spec bike for the money. My GT Grade Alloy 105 was 900 dollars, and better in every way.

I have an Anyroad 1. I tried it and the Diverge back to back and the geometry of the Anyroad suited me much better. Each to their own. I use my Anyroad for long rides that include gravel, tarmac and woodland sections.

Before I begin, just wanted everyone to know that I am the type that always keep an open mind to anything that is out of the ordinary. With that being said, I cross compared the Specialized, Cannondale, and Trek with Giant for months...and I ended up purchasing the Giant an AnyRoad CoMax and up graded it with full Dura Ace group (that's right, price is not a concern for me; the looks and feel are). I really dig the shape and graphics of the CoMax!! You really have to see it in person to appreciate how much Giant has manipulated the carbon frame; it is truly amazing, every tube has been shaped extensively to optimize this bike for its intended purpose; Any Road, any time, confidently! I use it daily; mainly on road, bike trails with some off road trail mixed in. What I enjoyed about this bike is the more up right position; less stress on my back, especially with my big backpack on! I inflate my tires to 75psi max and I can easily go fast on the street and trails with the frame absorbing most of the shock, making it very easy/comfortable to ride fast on any surface when compared to a traditional aluminum frame/geometry bike. And, if I want to go more aero I just grab the lower portion of the handle bar and that drops me down just enough to cut thur the wind in my area (15-25mph with gust up to 45mph most days, ouch!). Great mechanical brakes for easy modulation which I prefer over the hydraulics. Switch out the seat with my own favorites and I have an out standing do it all bike (almost all)! It is a keeper for me! BTW, the tires are decent but I would definitely up grade to something more substantial once this wears out... So, to each his own! Wish I could post a pic of my bike here but I don't know how...

Giant anyroad is a very cheap bike, go to any decent bike shop and you'll probably find one under $1000. I paid $900 for a new anyroad2 back in 2014. It's my do it all bike, I've taken my bike to mountain bike trails, short 1k 5 day tours, and daily commute to work. If you cant tell, it's the only bike I own currently due to my current living arrangement. I've upgraded mine in order to keep up with later models and as it stand it weigh at 10kgs which I think is pretty good since I'm running a triple setup.
Things I dont like about it, no 2nd bottle mount (!!!?), inability to install decent fenders, limited mount point for racks, weird frame triangle means no frame bags and the internal cable routing for the rear brakes is a mess. -
Since we are on Adventure bikes, what is your take on the Felt V series?

ps. Nice review as usual. I actually flipped the stem so it faces down, may even remove a spacer if there is one there but is fairly comfortable just doesn't feel super fast. A defy with 28mm tyres may have been a better choice for me as there aren't that many gravel tracks around here.

I got an Anyroad Comax.. don't ride it much, good for gravel tracks/commuting, once it gets too rough you'd be better with a mountain bike IMO. Pretty good value for money considering full carbon/105

Hi, I haven't found anything about Giant Anyroad on Szajbajk channel, and it was a kinda suprise that I found it here :)
Well, I'm using Anyroad 1, this one with carbon fork, and it is as you mentioned about. My position on this bike is very upright. It is not good when you want to go very fast on tarmack, but is very well seen in Warsaw, when I'm using that bike and I have cars around. Moreover I'm using Anyroad on MTB Marathons like Mazovia MTB, and this position is also better when you're going down through some canyons. And there is one very important thing which you haven't mentioned about. A second set of brake handles on handle bar, which is freaking useful in fact anywhere, in the city, on gravel, on the mountain bike path. Just anywhere, you have brake handles always just next of you hand. I think Specialized is a bike just for different purpose, not worse but not better.
