Why on earth would you need to pack so much food. Theres stores everywhere in the world!!! The race mirror is a good idea.

Great detail loading the bob trailer. Thank you for the video.

Even a power meter! How many watts do you try to stay at on a long day.
-
I toured heavy for 3 months in the UK and Europe with 25kgs.. Around 55lbs in two paniers and a drybag lashed to the handle bars (camping gear, clothes, water and food). I would only add a dynamo hub and a 1/2 size guitar to my kit. I can't imagine taking 160lbs

wow, commendable effort my good man. Musical instrument, mics , recording gear and solar charger...my kind of guy. brilliant

Does anyone know what has become of Switchback Bags? They appear to have gone belly up.

Great vid! Good to see a non-conventional setup. You bring your saxophone and still go fast. What's the average speed you can do with this setup?

You Sir, are the man. What people may be missing here is you are doing the distance of a Sportive each day with what was fairly described above as a ridiculous amount of weight. I have been pulling a Bob Yak around on tours for 15 years totally convinced trailering was more efficient than panniering, but finding myself apparently in a minority with that point of view. To me, your example is conclusive - imagine doing 120M a day with with 160 lbs in panniers!
I recently replaced my Bob with the much more sophisticated Weber Monoporter single wheeled trailer but to my chagrin found it's fussy atachment system was not suitable for the sort of dropouts found on lots of more modern road bikes made of Carbon or Alu. But i see in your case the Bob's simple skewer hitch system works fine with your modern road bike.
Keep on abiding. -
You have absolutely NO idea of what you are doing! You are overloaded and under-spec with tyre size. A very messy and amateur look.
-
You are very clear with your explaination and great tips to riding safely.
-
Thanks for the video.... I normally would be skeptical that caliper brakes would be strong enough to stop all that weight, but you made it across the country on the setup, so they are obviously sufficient. Nice job and keep on riding.

You got pink on man! ewwwww!

I like your style :) Interesting to see how you can pack your bike. Giving me a few ideas, thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot for a great video with loads of tips. Question, does the single wheel Bob trailer have the advantage over the rear wheel twin wheel trailer that is attached to the saddle post? I know you have the surface area of two wheels on the floor rather than one, but does it really make a difference?

How many hours does it take to go 120 miles with 160 pounds of gear, and how many breaks do you think you take? Thanks.
-
You lost me when you mentioned the saxophone!
-
To me, the amount of weight you are carrying is ridiculous. Personally I wouldn't want to carry more than 30 pounds. Of course, whatever works for you and YMMV. The best resource for figuring out how to reduce weight is backpackinglight.com, a backpacking site for lightweight backpacking.

way too go

Super!

I know you said you are using 25s for tires, but what type of wheelset are you using? I'm looking at getting a new set after my last failed tour, constant spoke breakage. Do you recommend a specific rim/hub, or does it not matter?
Thanks for your videos. Makes me want to get back out on the road soon.
