The unboxing and initial assembly of my new 2012 KHS Flite 300 Road Bike. I got a really good deal from a bike shop selling it on eBay since it was left over stock. My phone ran out of memory so the video cuts of with me mentioning the 26mm tires. They did this for comfort. I may go with a narrower tire when these wear out. Plus, I may get some aluminum chain rings instead of the stamped steel ones. It'll be fun upgrading components as time goes by. For now, I'm very pleased with the bike. Can't wait 'til I have time to do final adjustments and ride it. I've never bought a bicycle on eBay before, but I rode one of these in a local shop so I know it fits. Sorry about all the talk about only $625. Just excited I guess. I probably could have gotten a sweet used bike for the money too, but there's something about a new one. I was at my local bike shop and saw the 2015 KHS for 650$. Does it ride well??

Check out the new 2014 model on the khs website. Same MSRP of $789 but an improved Shimano Claris (2400) group that replaces the Shimano 2300. Most noticeable are 1) the dual control brake levers that do away with the thumb shifters and 2) the Octalink bottom bracket. The new available colors are the (now popular) understated gloss black or silver (matte black for women). Personally I'm glad I got red when it was available. The 2014 is a great bike & value and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

They appear to be sealed, but I'm not sure if they're cartridge bearings like the crank bearings are. Sorry I didn't see your comment before now.

Are the hubs sealed bearings?

Leftovers are the best, I got a 2010 Flite for 360$, never used.

I wanted to have a way that my boys who were away in college (both of whom are cyclists), could participate in my latest purchase. I have since ridden with them and have put several hundred miles on my KHS. I'm really loving it. We're planning a summer trip. Been thinking about posting another follow-up video. What a delight to see this fabulous review. I happened to see your youtube video because I'm looking at one of these on Craigslist. I don't know how you had the patience to do the video. I would have been riding it like I stole it and on wobbly legs, then and only then would I have thought about the video camera. Great job!
