great review, just got the same exact bike about a month and half ago and it rides great mine does'nt have very much miles on it yet but will be doing some riding when spring comes and i also have lights on mine since i usually stay out when it gets dark, but as for the brand of brakes i am guessing the brand is Radius

The forks on these are twisted from the factory., at least in my experience. Bought one, the brakes/wheel/fork wouldn't properly align due to the axle eyes at the ends of the forks not being parallel, and not being close enough to adjust. Kent sent me another fork, but it was the exact same, so I went to my local Cycle Hub community garage to look for a replacement fork, and found more of the same, as well as a good vintage cromo fork I used. Too bad, I thought anything could be fixed, but metals de-engineering has made it not cost effective to fix many things. Tsk tsk.

You should stop by a bike shop and get cool stops pads for your brakes

With my experiences with Walmart bikes, I strongly recommend that you overhaul the headset and apply marine grease. They cheapen out because it cost too much to manually add grease by hand. Adding the proper amount of grease will prevent rust on critical components. Not enough grease will make bearings fail and cause pitting.

it is not road bike
-
your brakes are not setup properly, also change out your brakepads, with some koolstop pads, it'll stop way better

That bike sucks

Ya know counter

You should buy flat resistant tubes:) I use them and never get flats and that's on a mountain bike in new Mexico! If you don't know new Mexico has a lot of prickly plants that destroy normal inner tube
-
you mean 21 speed.

I have this same bike, I posted a review on it on my channel. I have put almost about three times what I paid for it to fix it. I recommend getting a Giant Escape 2 (a hybrid) from a local bike shop that is way better than this and more comfortable in the city and road. If you need a road bike go to bikesdirect. BTW, my pedal is damage exatcly like yours and on the same side and I had to replace 6 spokes yesterday. Do not buy this bike!!!

you were right, it is a 7 speed. you dont really count the front 3 rings. ask anyone that rides a lot and they'll tell ya.
