Convincing people who've made up there mind is like talking to a wall.
An that's one hard wall to hit. -
my parents made me wait until i had two years of fully licensed driving experience before i could get a bike. That is completely fair because i have understanding of the road and what other drivers are going to do.

My view point on limiting teenagers on bikes. Until you are 18 you should not be riding a freaking liter bike unless you are professional racing bikes. My first bike was a 150 kymco scooter at the beginning of junior year in HS then in may of junior year I got a ninja 300 which I'm still riding. I plan on getting a 600 supersport for my 19th birthday and won't upgrade from there. A 300 is really all you need for the street anything else is just cause you can. Don't get a supersport until you can respect something like a 300. My ninja has thought me everything about riding and would buy another one again.

In Portugal you can get 50cc license at 16, at 18 you can get any bike limited to 35kw (usually it will be 250cc but you can get some "strangled" 500cc) till your 21, then you are free! The good bit is if you're 25 and have a car license you can just go on and buy anything 'till 125cc so 125's are a big thing around here
