I wish there wasn't a 15.5 mph cap on manufacturer's speed regulations in UK
Basically you have about a 250 watt motor, but as soon as you exceed 15.5mph you have a 0 watt motor on a heavy bike. As I do the majority of my riding above this speed, the cap renders them useless except on hills, but as the motor only has a single gear ratio, you're not getting the 250 watts at low speeds bogging down the motor. -
and its a great way to stay in shape

I want!

the problem is some one maybe Steal you bike

Seems to me his numbers are very much on the optimistic side. 35mph? I doubt it. A one hundred and twenty mile trip on a charge? Bullshit.
-
35 mph with a 400 watt motor? i dont believe it...
-
what if it rains?

Nice one!! electric bikes are great!

Bloody hurt to fall off. But I suppose that's part of the life of having a bike.

Incredible bike! Can someone please give me some tips about bikes? I'm wanting to get either an electric or motor bike to get around faster but don't know which to get. Electric bikes I hear don't go very fast but save $ over time and motor bikes are hard to build and require a lot of upkeep yet can fly down the street. I'm not rolling in $ but I've saved up some for a good one. I don't know which to get, can someone give me advice? Thanks!

@sky12066sed3 Re: how many miles before having problems with hub motor... It depends on which hub motor u r using. Which one (manufacturer/model r u using? It seems that a motor can go several thousand miles, typically, at minimum, before experiencing any problems. The battery on the other hand can have a limited life. Some of best 4 longevity, ATM, r the Lithium Ion Phosphate Polymers. And apparently best is Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, because they are safest and can get most recharges.

@BelchTycoon My experience is that most bicycle shops do not carry hub motors or batteries, unfortunately. Depending on what country u r in, it seems that most people have to order systems online. Another option is to see if you can find an electric bicycle club in your region of the world, and meet others who own/operate electric bicycles for ideas on sources and recommendations. Another possibility is look for people selling used systems on Craigs list to see about learning more / test riding

@upcycle Thank you for the suggestion. Would a bicycle shop have the items I would need to allow for an electric conversion?
